SYTYCD: A second chance for Comfort Fedoke

Written by: John

It was officially announced this morning that Jessica King had to drop out of the competition for “So You Think You Can Dance”. Jessica will appear on the show wednesday night to explain why she had to leave the competition. I’m sorry to see her leave. It’s possible she will be back on the finale show, but it’s not yet clear if she will go on the SYTYCD Tour this year. We’ll have to wait and see.

Jessica, I wish you a speedy and full recovery. Please continue with your dancing, many of us love and support you!

“Fox announced Monday morning at the TCA press tour. “I would like to say how sorry I am that Jessica cannot continue dancing in the competition at the advice of her doctor,” executive producer/judge Nigel Lythgoe said in a statement.”

Talk about split in 2. I absolutely loved Jessica and can’t believe she isn’t going on, but I’m also glad I get to see Comfort dance one more solo. Medical situation? It will be interesting to hear what Jessica says tonight on the show. Sounds like PR spin to me.

John-I agree. I’m going to wait to hear what she has to say. I feel for Comfort though, if she doesn’t blow people away Wednesday night she will be eliminated Thursday. Alot of people are not big fans of hers and are not happy that she was allowed back. As an official alternate and the last one eliminated, I think it’s fair to have her step in. At this point, every elimination will seem wrong!

I think that you’re right. Even though Comfort is coming back, she’s not going to make it past another episode. She just doesn’t have enough love with the fans. Plus, everyone that remains does.

I think a wildcard show should have been done to choose which of the eliminated girls should be competing again. Because I believe Chelsea Traille and Kortni Lind had a good chance to impress again. Comfort not so much…

I was really hoping though that Jessica King was still in the competition because she could have outshone Twitch in the waltz, but don’t think she will survive the hip hop with her injuries… However, it is still good that the competition carries on.

Teddy-thanks for the comment. I like your wild card idea. It would have included fans in the decision making process. Of course, I also understand that the show had to act quickly. They found out on Saturday that Jessica was out and the show tapes on Monday. They really didn’t have the time to create an additional show. And they couldn’t give up a regular performance show because they have a specific schedule to keep.

But I really do like the fairness of your idea.

I don’t like the idea of the wild card idea. That wouldn’t have been fair to comfort. She had lasted longer than the others and she was the logical choice to replace Jessica. I’m still upset that Jessica is gone, but what can you do.

While I don’t wish anyone bad, I wouldn’t mind if one of the other girls or guys gets hurt and Kherington and/or Gev could come back. I can always dream right?
