Nigel Lythgoe was on FOX 5 Atlanta talking about auditions for SYTYCD season 6 (which premieres this fall). So You Think You Can Dance auditions are going on in Atlanta right NOW with Nigel, Mary Murphy and Lil C. In this video, Nigel says there is a lot of good hip hop and street dancing in Atlanta. He also gives us some where are they now updates on past contestants on So You Think You Can Dance Joshua, Twitch, Kherington, Neil and more. Predicting the So You Think You Can Dance Top 20

My fellow So You Think You Can Dance friend posted their potential So You Think You Can Dance 2009 Top 20. I love the idea and if I hadn’t been spending so much time on the So You Think You Can Dance music, I’d do the same (in fact, I did previously post a few So You Think You Can Dance 2009 top 20 locks. However, that was only after the first audition. Now the auditions are complete and we’re going into Vegas. So, despite my lack of time, here’s Nate’s potential top 20:

The Top 10 Boys
Sammy Ramirez (LA)
Maksim Kapitannikov (New York)
Evan Kasprzak (Memphis)
Phillip Chebeeb (LA)
Chimezie Nwosu (New York)
Marico Flaka (Memphis)
Brandon Bryant (Denver)
Peter Sabasino (New York)
Alex Wong (Miami)
Ryan Kasprzak (Memphis)

The Top 10 Girls
Natalie Reid (Denver)
Jeanette Manrara (Miami)
Bianca Revels (LA)
Kayla Rodamski (Denver)
Kelsea Taylor (Seattle)
Gabi Rojas (New York)
Megan Kinney (Note: NOT Caitlin. We may have only seen like 15 seconds of Megan, but I was captivated) (Miami)
Priscilla Marrero (Miami)
Asuka Kondoh (LA)
Anna Dunn (Miami)

His locks for the So You Think You Can Dance top 20 are: Evan Kasprzak, Phillip Chebeeb, Brandon Bryant, Natalie Reid, Bianca Revels, Gabi Rojas, and Asuka Kondoh.

I have to disagree with a couple of the choices. The guys actually look pretty solid. I’m a little scared the Phillip Chebeeb might not make it, but then again they need a bit of diversity of talent in the top 20 to make the show more interesting to watch.

Where I have to disagree is with the top 10 girls. I’d probably take Kelsea Taylor off the list since she was wonderful in her style, but she might not be able to go beyond her own unique talent. I wouldn’t be surprised if by some weird act Natalie Reid doesn’t pull through. Possibly Mia’s choreography or something. I also have to put Caitlin Kinney into my top 10 girls. She was fantastic. Caitlin Kinney and Kayla Radomski were my two favorite auditions for this season of So You Think You Can Dance.

Man, just as I say that I look through the rest of the list and realize that there are so many talented people on that list. I’m still surprised that the ballroom dancers haven’t been showing up. No Chelsie Hightower on the list. No Benji Schwimmer or Lacey Schwimmer for that matter. Although I do think it’s good that Asuka Kondoh is on the list.

Anyone else as excited as I am about this week’s So You Think You Can Dance? I just wish I would have gotten in contact with the So You Think You Can Dance producers when they were actually doing the Las Vegas auditions and found a way to go and check out the talent first hand. Maybe next season.

Amanda Kerby Before So You Think You Can Dance

I previously called Amanda Kerby possibly the most beautiful girl to audition on So You Think You Can Dance. Watching Amanda Kerby’s audition again, I stick by what I said. She could be a model for sure. She has such an awesome look.

What makes Amanda Kerby even more interesting and beautiful is that her talent extends beyond her good looks. Amanda Kerby is a great dancer and will be great to watch in Las Vegas.

As more proof, check out this Lyrical solo by Amanda Kerby to the music: “Thank You” Ashanti - Ashanti - Thank You by Ashanti

The spins on this video are incredible. I could just watch Amanda Kerby spin over and over again.

Brandon Bryant Videos Before So You Think You Can Dance

I always love to look back at the various performances of the talent that we find on So You Think You Can Dance. Luckily, people love these dancers and so there’s usually plenty of footage showing off their talent before they make it on So You Think You Can Dance and all of America gets to know them.

This is a selection of videos I could find displaying the talent and diversity of Brandon Bryant before SYTYCD (should that be BSYTYCD?)

I actually really like the girl in this video too. She really hits it hard. I guess her name is Maddie. Why hasn’t she been on the show? I think she’s talented enough.

Brandon Bryant doing a rehearsal of his So You Think You Can Dance 2009 audition to the song “O Fortuna” by Carl Orff (from “Carmina Burana) I think I prefer his actual audition.

Erik “Silky” Moore Talent Show Perfomance Before SYTYCD

I couldn’t believe this video when I saw it. I thought for a second that this was Brandon Bryant and not Erik “Silky” Moore the tapper. I wondered if I was confusing videos. Well, I was wrong. Watching this video along with his audition, there’s no doubt that Erik “Silky” Moore has more than enough dancing talent to do all sorts of styles. Check out the video of Erik “Silky” Moore winning a talent show to the ending monologue from American Beauty.

Here’s another highlight video of Erik “Silky” Moore. This really does an amazing job of showing the incredible talent that he has in all sorts of styles. He has strength, technique, tricks, and style. Incredible stuff. As a side note, this video comes from what looks like Erik Moore’s (Silky) youtube channel.

I figured I might as well post the Erik “Silky” Moore audition on So You Think You Can Dance 2009 for comparison as well.

Lots more videos of Erik “Silky” Moore, but that’s enough for tonight. More later when he makes the So You Think You Can Dance top 20.

Kayla Radomski Before So You Think You Can Dance

I predicted Kayla Radomski would be part of the So You Think You Can Dance top 20 as soon as I saw her start dancing. She was refined and beautiful to watch. I could see it almost immediately. Now check out the videos of Kayla Radomski and you’ll see why she has got to be one of the most talented dancers on this season of So You Think You Can Dance.

Kayla Radomski dancing with Misha Gabriel when Kayla was really young (I’m guessing about 10 years old). It’s awesome watching such a young girl keep up with the older people. I guess Kayla has some natural talent to build on. Quite the gem.

This video of Kayla Radomski doing a photo shoot for “Ice Princess” is pretty incredible The final pictures are just pure art.

Another gem of a video of Kayla Radomski dancing for Brian Friedman’s advanced class at The Pulse.
