Karla Garcia Before So You Think You Can Dance Top 20

Karla Garcia isn’t the traditional dancer, but I think she’s going to really add a different twist on the show. Has there ever been another Filipino dancer on the show? Another person who wasn’t featured on SYTYCD much at all.

This is a really interesting feature on Karla Garcia doing a broadway show and also talking about her dance studio. I wish we had features like this on all of the SYTYCD top 20.

Since you’re probably interested in seeing Karla Garcia’s dancing, you’ll enjoy this video of her performing a solo before SYTYCD. I think it shows a lot of energy and passion for dancing which should carry over well if she ever has to dance for her life.

Here’s another raw studio video of Karla performing before SYTYCD. Kind of fun to watch her performing with others behind her.

Also, the above video had this bio on Karla Garcia:
Karla Garcia hails from the DC Metropolitan area. She has been dancing competitively since the age of 6. She trained under Fran and Jimmy Peters at Fran’s Studio of Dance. She also attended the Kirov Academy of Ballet and the Washington School of Ballet. She decided to take her dancing further and pursue the big apple. She received a scholarship to NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts where she received a BFA in dance and a minor in journalism. During her final year of college, she landed a spot in the Broadway dance musical HOT FEET.

Recently, she completed 7 months on the national tour of the Broadway hit WICKED. Other credits include So You Think You Can Dance season 3 Las Vegas semi-finals, Carnival NY and LA, Rite Aid industrial, Radio City Rockette ensemble, and a Lucille Roberts Fitness commercial. She is a member of BOOGIE BOTS CREW and SIOPAO, both DC based. She is represented by Clear Talent Group agency and currently resides in NY, performing, teaching, and choreographing. She thanks God for all the gifts HE has given her.
