Randi Evans and Phillip Chbeeb So You Think You Can Dance Top 20 Interview

Phillip Chbeeb is going to be a lot of fun to watch this season because he’s not the traditional dancer. He’s basically a street dancer. I’m looking forward to see him doing all the various styles. Randi Evans gets voted the worst outfit of the SYTYCD top 20. I can’t really blame her since they chose it, but it’s bad. Nice to have a married woman on the show (check out the rock on her hand). I was trying to remember if a married person had ever made the SYTYCD top 20 (I think Melissa Sandvig is married also). Check it out:

Janette Manrara and Brandon Bryant So You Think You Can Dance Top 20 Interview

I thought some of the other dancers had quite a bit of personality. Well, Janette and Brandon have blown all the other SYTYCD top 20 videos out of the water. Janette Manrara is going to be one of those girls that people either really like or don’t like. I also really like Janette’s accent. She should bring out the accent even more. Brandon Bryant was also quite good in front of the camera. He always had something to say. These two are going to do really well on the show. They interacted with each other better than any of the other dancers. Oh yes, that’s the worst outfit they could have ever chosen for Janette. Check it out:

Kayla Radomski and Tony Bellissimo So You Think You Can Dance Top 20 Interview

Kayla Radomski is really going to be interesting to watch. She seems really comfortable in front of the camera. Her voice does kind of bother me and man could she be any whiter? Tony Bellissimo seems to be trying a little too hard to be cool. I do like when Tony talks about the criticism he received. He was quite articulate in his response. Check it out:

Karla Garcia and Max Kapitannikov So You Think You Can Dance Top 20 Interview

Karla Garcia is a brave girl to tell the story of her first dance where she couldn’t hold her bladder. Even if she was only 3 years old, she’s also brave to tell the story. I really think that America will fall in love with Karla. She seems real and natural and something people will really learn to love. Max Kapitannikov is like the storyteller. He’s not quite as articulate, but he just seemed pretty nervous in front of the camera. Check it out:

Evan Kasprzak and Jeanine Mason So You Think You Can Dance Top 20 Interview

Evan Kasprzak is just like I think we’d all imagine he’d be. Evan was dead on that him being sexy being foreign to him. Jeanine Mason is a real surprise in this interview. She has a lot of personality and I think people are really going to fall in love with her. However, I have to say that the blue dress she has on is horrible. Check out the interview:

Caitlin Kinney and Jonathan Platero So You Think You Can Dance Top 20 Interview

Caitlin Kinney and Jonathan Platero get interviewed by Fox in their new wardrobe for the So You Think You Can Dance top 20 photo shoot. It’s nice to see this, because we really saw so little of Jonathan Platero before. Also, since I’m a fan of Caitlin of course I love this video. Check it out:

Ashley Valerio & Vitolio Jeune So You Think You Can Dance Top 20 Interview

Ashley Valerio & Vitolio Jeune talk about their experience in Vegas, their very first dance performance ever, their winning strategy and their new wardrobe! Ashley kind of gets left in the background in this video thanks to the talkative Vitolio. I still like the story of Ashley trying out four times and Jeune is going to entertain us each week with some witty comment. Check it out:

My Personal Favorites on SYTYCD 2009

It’s kind of early to pick a true favorite since some of the So You Think You Can Dance top 20 we barely know. However, that doesn’t mean I don’t have some early favorites. Here are my favorite dancers from the SYTYCD top 20:

Caitlin Kinney – I don’t know why I fell in love with this girl, but I did the first time I saw her dance. I like her look. I love the way she carries herself. She was a little emotional, but once you become a fan of someone you let things like that slide. She does seem kind of tall (or am I just seeing it wrong) which should prove interesting in doing the partnering.
Janette Manrara – Amazing lines and incredibly beautiful to watch dance. I’m interested to see more of her personality, but I’m certain the choreographers will have a hay day creating routines for her.
Asuka Kondoh – Representing ballroom and Japan all at once. I’m going to love watching her dance. I’m just afraid that her dancing will have to do the talking. I see her not doing as well in the personality department, but I guess we’ll see. I still love her dancing.

Vitolio Jeune – I think this guy is going to make us laugh every week. We haven’t seen much of his dancing, but someone who can make us laugh is going to do well.
Tony Bellissimo – He’s not a true favorite of mine, but I think he’s going to provide some nice storylines. My 2 predicted storylines: 1. Hitting on Cat (like Dominic) 2. Showing huge improvement like Ivan did on SYTYCD Season 2.
Phillip Chbeeb – I hope that he’s in the bottom 3 every week so we get to see him do a solo. I think he’s also going to shock us with the various styles. I could be wrong, but I think he’s going to impress us.

I can’t wait for next week’s performance shows.
