Jason Mraz Wants Jason and Jeanine to Perform at His Chicago Tour Stop
Rolling Stone is reporting that Jason Mraz wants Jason Glover and Jeanine Mason to perform their Travis Wall routine to Jason Mraz’s “If It Kills Me” during Jason Mraz’s Chicago tour stop where he is filming a live DVD. Rolling Stone says that Jason Mraz was “absolutely moved by the clip” after Jason’s parents alerted him to it. Jason Mraz was just on the Today Show this morning which says a lot about how big he’s gotten.
Rolling Stones also reported ““I woke up in bed the other night going, ‘I have to get that couple to dance!’ ” Mraz says, revealing dance is “another little guilty pleasure” of his. “I really long to be a great dancer. Whoever I choose to be my one true love has to be a great dancer. What a great way to build a relationship with someone — going to dance classes every so often and really improve your partnership.””
I checked and Jason Mraz will be in Chicago on 8/13/09. Luckily, that’s well before Jason and Jeanine will be on the SYTYCD Tour. Sounds like it could be a good possibility for them. Reminds me of my favorite Nigel quote, “These kids have got to work.” Basically, Nigel understands that the contracts with Fox shouldn’t hurt the dancers on the show.
In case, you live in some hole, here’s the video of Jason and Jeanine’s performance on SYTYCD:
See! Its not a bad thing if you don’t win SYTYCD! Look at Traivs now!! He is going to become so famous because of this piece, and he only choreographyed it because he didn’t win. Fate? Most likely.
I heard about this and thought is was awesome. Travis tweeted about it and he seems very excited about it and he should be. I think it’s great that Jason Mraz wants them to perform at his show.
I agree with Kelsey it not a bad thing if you don’t win.
I still think an emmy nommination is in Travis’s future.
Yes!!!!
Not that I’m seeing him in concert or even particularly like Jason Mraz. Loved this song though, the choreography was spot-on musically and lyrically. Way to go Travis!
Ha! I would love to hear what Jeanine’s response was to learning Mraz wants his “true love has to be a great dancer”. I bet it was classic Jeanine!
I’m so excited for them! Jason was my favorite guy, and jeanine my second favorite girl, and this was my favorite dance of the season. Plus I love Jason mraz. Great combo. Wish I weren’t leaving chicago on the 12th!
That’s horrible timing, Beth! ;”)
CoffeyCup: You made me laugh. I *do* wonder what she said now. I bet it was hysterical. With any luck, it was on camera and we’ll get to see it eventually…
I was really excited to see this, when Adam Shankman Tweeted about it.
I saw Travis tweet this as well. i’m not a Jason Mraz fan, but this would be such a cool thing to include in his set!!!
She probably raised her hand and said “Me Me Me” while doing the happy dance.
@ John – Ha ha! Yup.
Here’s a link to post finale video. Jeanine says she is donating a bunch of her money to charity, after she pays for college.
Yes. i absolutely love this. Amongst the ones that judges pick up, i was moved by this. I wish i could to see this tour…but unfortunately, i;m not in USA:((
CoffeyCup,
Thanks for the link. I’m going to do a post with the interviews of Jeanine. Meant to do it on Friday.
I also think it’s interesting that Jeanine and her sister started a non profit organization. I’ll see if there’s a link to donate to it. Pure SYTYCD is considering starting some sort of partnership with a dance non profit (possibly DizzeFeet Foundation) to raise money for dancers. The focus would be dancers who’ve never had lessons. Not just good dancers who are going somewhere else.
