SYTYCD Boston Auditions Episode Music
Quick, catch that song! Missed it? Okay, I think I got it. Check it out:
Opening montage (outside in line): “Brass Knuckles” Living Things
Teddy Tedholm interview (whimsical bow-tie guy): “Smarty Pants” Phil Flowers & His United Family
Teddy Tedholm audition (and don’t forget the golf pants from his mom): “If It Kills Me” Jason Mraz
Jean Lloret: “Wrath of Kane” Big Daddy Kane – Can’t find this on iTunes, but try “Boom,” another song of his.
Kimara Wood (dred-lock guy) and a bit of Jean Llorent outside: “Touched” VAST
Channing Cook (ice cream scooper) interview: “Rockaway Beach” The Ramones (thanks Mada!)
Channing Cook (she’s 18 and a “tomboy”) audition: “A Beautiful Mess” Jason Mraz
Ryan Casey (tall tapper): I thought it was “The Hop” by either Kenzu or Radio Citizen (not on iTunes), but it’s “Stomp” by Quincy Jones.
Russell Ferguson: “Melt!” Flying Lotus
Fabrizio Jenkins: “Woman Friend” Chromeo (thanks to Mada again – what a star!)
Choreography: “I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho)” Pitbull
Karen & Matthew Hauer (married couple): “She Wants to Move” N.E.R.D.
Gene Bersten (goes on and on about how sexy he is and his moves mesmerize the ladies) interview: “Sexy Boy” Air
Gene Bernstein (opens the shirt, pulls faces) audition and also, later, Kevin “K-Bez” Hunte: “Boom Boom Boom” Black Eyed Peas
Paul Magliato (isn’t this guy too old for the show?) interview: “Relax” Frankie Goes to Hollywood
Paul Magliato (46-year old in tights, yuck) audition: “Vida la Vida” Coldplay
Montage: “Fire Burning” Sean Kingston
The Tyce Diorio Dr. Evil montage: “Dr. Evil: Doctor of Evil” Minus Five
Last song is called “Rise,” but I don’t know who the artist is.
Check out the most recent music from previous auditions here.
does anyone know the name of the song played during the montage after the guy gets 3 tickets from the judges (becuz he’s so good) its like a african woman saying ay or YAy, then it goes to a rock/dance song.
never mind it vast
Thanks for doing this Emilie. You’re doing a great job with this.
Did the bow-tie guy dance to the same song that Jason and Jeanine danced to last season (with that unscripted kiss)?
@ John: Thanks!
@Tabitha: Yep. It’s Jason Mraz’s If It Kills Me
Yay, Boston kicked butt. What a bunch of great auditions. I like the blonde ice creamer scooper. She’s a real charcter. The krumper was great too. I was ready to laugh off the bow tie guy, but man that was quirky cool.
Thank you SOOO much for having this list! I always hear songs I love on SYTYCD and never know who the artists are so YAY!
What was the song that played at the end of the show??
None of the SYTYCD blogs have it listed!
and it was such a good song! its killing me!
Does anyone know the song that’s played at the end of the boston auditions? I’ve been looking for it but it’s not on any site. I really want to know what that song is
Just wondering if anyone knows the song that Russell Ferguson krumped to? Thanks for this site, I just found it and LOVE it!
Hi! I looked for the song from the end of the auditions too, and had no luck. But i heard some of the lyrics, maybe somebody recognizes it. It goes like this:
“I’ve been working, I’ve been waiting…not to call my own. All that we want is more. We’re gonna rise. We’re gonna rise.”
There were other small parts of songs that I can’t find, like the one in the beginning of the episode from which I one caught a phrase “Take to the streets”.
I did find one song that’s not on the list. It’s from The Ramones – Rock Rock Rockaway beach . It played during the interview with Channing Cook, the blonde girl.
I just found the song which played during Fabrizio’s audition. It’s Cromeo – Woman Friend . You can listen to a part of it here http://mog.com/music/Chromeo/She%27s_in_Control/Woman_Friend#play . This is all i found.
Thanks so much for listing the music!! Has anyone found the music used by Russell Ferguson? I would sure love to know what it is.
I put up a query in yahoo answers about the very last song. We’ll see if anyone knows it.
@CoffeyCup: From the comments on here, I think I’m alone in not being terribly impressed by Boston. BUT, I will say – it was a memorable episode. 🙂
@Jeanette: So glad you found us! Welcome!
@Meilina & Mary: I think it’s called “Rise,” but haven’t been able to find the artist.
@Robin & Stephanie & PreciousJewlz: It’s called “Melt!” by a band called Flying Lotus.
@Mada: You totally rock. Shout outs on the music page. Thanks.
Thanks Emilie for finding so many songs, I didn’t even noticed some of them. Also thanks for the credits, glad I could help.
@Mada: Well, thanks for all of your help, too! During the show and immediately after, it’s hunting and searching and counting on detectives like you. 🙂 It’s so hard not to have the answer to that burning, “What is that song?” question immediately.
Does anyone know the song the black guy krumping with dreads was dancing to? It was just an instrumental piece. The judges sent him to choreograpy and mentioned Lil C’s name. He had on a black top and jeans. Thanks. 🙂
The Flying Lotus album Los Angeles, from which “Melt!” was featured, is fantastic start to finish. Ya’ll who like the song should really check the rest out 🙂
Thanks Amanda for info on the Flying Lotus album. I greatly appreciate it.
I really loved the very last song which accordig to the written above is called ‘Rise” and I tried to find it but with no success. So I’d like to ask if anyone of you has it,please send it to me! My e-mail is nikoleta_192@abv.bg
I’ll be sooo grateful!
