SYTYCD S7 Top 9 Performance Show Discussion Thread
So no surprise eliminations so far this season though I know a lot of people are sad that Alexie and Cristina are gone. I have a feeling this week’s elimination will be a shocker, so I’m watching tonight’s show very carefully. Everybody has to dance well, of course, and bring something new to the stage that we haven’t necessarily seen before. Which means some folks may be out of their comfort zones…which could lead to the danger zone…
What do y’all think?
Absolutely 🙂 Twitch is awesome and the combination of Twitch/Alex/NappyTabs was magic. But having Twitch in a routine is definitely no guarantee of extra love. His dance with Alexie was mostly forgettable and she was first to go.
BIG NEWS!!! Mark and Courtney are doing The Garden on the results show tonight!! According to both of their Twitters, sooo excited!
@Margaret: SQUEAL!!! Great spoiler, thank you!!!!!
Finally had time to watch the recorded show.
Adechike: The critiques of hip-hop often mention dancing down into the floor. To me it looked like he wasn’t really doing that, but I like seeing him happy and enjoying the dance.
Ashley: I’m starting to be really frustrated with her, but it’s not her fault. I liked this week’s piece, but I didn’t care for the last 2 weeks and I just need to see her in a different style.
Robert: It was okay.
Melinda Sullivan: She always works hard and I admire that. I think I can see what other people said about the legs and feet.
Lauren: I loved her in Vegas and I thought that she was good at getting into a character, but in the live shows it tends to seem about halfway there and I wonder why.
Billy: Maybe the partnering and performance issues are why he seems so flat?
Jose: Mia said what I was thinking. How does he get away with this? He got through Vegas, so he must be able to do choreography, but then on the shows he doesn’t do a lot. They’ve had dancers without formal training before who kept up well. It doesn’t seem like Jose is.
Kent: I think that part of Kent’s trouble looking manly might be that he always looks so enthusiastic. I even think that the pulling faces, though it seems fake, is a fairly good expression of how he actually feels.
Alex: I decided that I was going to be his fan because he was Canadian, but I wasn’t feeling the charisma in the first 2 weeks. But this piece was awesome and he did look fairly natural dancing hip-hop, which is very impressive.
