SYTYCD Season 7 Top 3 Thoughts/Power Rankings
Oh what a great show!!! And just so you know, I’m starting this post after only the second routine! Lol. Here are my Thoughts/Power Rankings.
John, Marianya and Amanda have each broken down why each of the three remaining contestants could win Season 7.
But now I have to rank how each of them did in tonight’s performance show. Our commenter beth said I should just say “no comment,” since it’s such a hard Power Ranking to do.
But something tells me I couldn’t get away with that. Sigh. Gulp. Here we go.
Kent and Lauren Bollywood – This was a wonderful routine! Lots of energy and character and it really showed off Kent’s skills–acrobatics and theatrics. I was really impressed with Lauren, as well. She’s pretty phenomenal. However, Kent seemed to struggle with her weight at the end of the routine, which none of the judges mentioned. It’s hard to take anything they say seriously when they completely gloss over mistakes for some dancers and then nitpick others to death. I get it, it’s the finale, but I think they could’ve mentioned that he was a bit wobbly at the end.
(When Cat said, “Russian folk isn’t making a comeback is it?” and Adam said, “Sweet Jesus, no,” I totally expected Jeanine and Philip to run out in their folk costumes and that music to start. Lol. I was really disappointed.)
Lauren and Twitch Nappytabs hip hop – I agree that Nappytabs is having a wonderful out season and this routine illustrated exactly how solid Lauren is, to be able to dance so well alongside Twitch, of all the All-Stars. It was funny and hard-hitting and LoFro walloped us with her athleticism. I honestly couldn’t stop watching her, which is HUGE considering who she was dancing with. What I really loved about the routine was that Nappytabs didn’t choreograph some sort of relationship routine just cause they had a girl/guy combo. I think Lauren’s strengths encourage choreographers to give her routines where she can be tough and funky and sexy all at once and not just one thing at a time.
Robert and Mark jazz – I liked the routine while I watched it, even though I thought Robert and Mark looked a lot alike. I couldn’t tell them apart during the sections when they broke away from each other, and I didn’t really mind not being able to keep track of who was who during the unison sections. Marianya and I were talking about this happening ages ago and I’m glad that the two of them danced together. YET, I think Robert could’ve stood out more in a routine with a different All-Star than Mark. It’s a bit like the Kent-Neil Tyce baseball Broadway, except I think Kent was gifted with choreography that was more tailored to him. More than anything else, I hated that Nigel talked about Alex, Kent and Lauren, but didn’t actually talk about Robert.
During Kent’s chat with Cat, I loved the way she teased him and made kissy faces at him and then again after his solo. His solo was very “Kent-ish,” to borrow Mia’s earlier word. It wasn’t the strongest solo he’s done, but it was a’right.
Lauren and Robert’s Contemporary – LOOOOVED this!! It showcased them both so well. I thought it could’ve been a distracting prop, but it was used with such intention that it really amplified the performance, in my opinion. Especially that one particular lift that Nigel mentioned. They were so supportive of each other and you could see it in all the really intricate timing and collaborative stuff they did. The song was gorgeous, they both looked incredible and danced beautifully.
Lauren and Kent’s jazz – I thought they were both cute together and I love Mandy Moore. I’m glad that L&K defended her and very disappointed that the judges were kinda blah about her choreography when really, that would’ve been a great routine with two other dancers. Or Lauren and Billy again. Cause it really was like that routine with Billy, except it didn’t have the same loose flow coming from Kent. Before you boo me or throw the veggies, go and watch it back. Seriously. What I’ve started to realize is that maybe because Kent’s smaller than most of the other dancers, he prepares too much for lifts and big moves. You can see them coming a mile away. Tonight, I could see it in ALL of his routines and it made them pretty staccato.
Looooved Robert’s chat with Cat when he said that if he won, he’d look at his mom and say, “What do you want,” then use the money to get it for her. That was incredibly sweet. I thought his solo showed a lot of his growth over the season.
Kent and Allison’s contemporary – I have to say, I did love this. While I did notice some wobbling from Kent (ducks), mostly I thought the choreography, the music and the dancers added up so something pretty incredible. But I really didn’t know how to feel when Kent was acting like Rainman afterwards and the judges took that opportunity to effuse that he’d had an artist moment and grown up. I don’t know that I like serious Kent. Serious Kent seems pretty fake to me, actually. It’s the joyful, exuberant, thrilled Broadway Kent that I like the best, that feels the strongest and truest. I can hear the booing from here. Moving on quickly…
It was cute that Lauren said the prom dance with Kent was her favorite, too. Her solo was KILLER!! I agree with beth that you can see her fighting in her solos and not treating them like throwaways. I think if anything gives her the edge, it’d be this, and the fact that she’s hitting high notes at just the right moment.
Robert and Kathryn’s Broadway – This is one of the most amazing things ever. I loved hardcore criminal Robert and tough interrogator Kathryn. R&K are the closest thing we’ve had to old-school SYTYCD partnership and I love watching them dance together. He broke the chair in the rehearsals, then his pants on the show and I loved the interactions with Kathryn through it all. But what I really loved was that he had something of a solo at the beginning – and he held the stage! Plus, we’ve talked about Robert channeling Dmitry and looking like Mark’s brother but in this routine, Robert reminded me a lot of Neil. Maybe that’s crazy, but I don’t think it could possibly be a bad thing. 🙂
Lauren and Pasha’s cha cha – I think this put Lauren over the top. Okay, maybe it was the cumulative affect of all of tonight’s dances and the entire season, but that cha cha was stunning. She dances everything like she’s already an All-Star, like Adam pointed out a while back. She was so athletic and sexy and then Mia said that if she were still dancing, she’d want to dance just like Lauren. Whatever your feelings about Mia this season, having a dancer/choreographer say that to another dancer is just… Pretty unique. I think everybody (even the judges) are starting to realize that Lauren is the little engine who could – she hasn’t been overproduced and hasn’t had a lot of the big emotional, memorable routines that some of the other dancers have been gifted with. Yet – she’s danced everything well, with her own flair and style and athleticism.
And then there was…Robert and Kent’s Maelvos – Awful. Just awful, I’m sorry. But what a horrible way to end the performance finale. This is going to sound strange, but I think about 30% of the problem could’ve been cleared up by their pants being better fits. They seemed so loose and baggy that they looked like awkward little boys wearing their dad’s clothes. Even Robert, who looks damn hot in tailored pants. And their coats should’ve been cut shorter, as well. They looked stronger and had cleaner lines once they took them off. Another 40% could have been fixed if Kent hadn’t danced. (Ducks the serious veggies flying her way). He was so awkward and ill-prepared for this! I’ll be honest – my beloved Robert wasn’t much better, but he WAS better. Mostly, I think that the maelvos, like the male-male paso doble probably need hyper masculine dancers in order to work. We didn’t have that here, except somewhat with Robert. Oddly, Nigel and Adam almost completely ignored the dance itself when they talked. Mia was the only one who stepped up to the plate and even then, she excused their occasional limpness as “debonair.”
So…as for my power rankings. Let’s try something new because this is impossible.
-I’d like Robert to win because I think he’s had the most growth over the course of the season if you look at where he was dance-wise to where he is now, dance-wise. Plus, he was in the bottom the most and survived. And he’d buy something cool for his mom.
-I think Lauren is probably the best dancer of the three of them and that she has a good chance to win because she’s been peaking at the right time. Her last dance of the night was one of her strongest (her first dance being the other “strongest” dance) and her solos are always really amazing.
-I still think Kent probably will win because he’s been hyped the most and because the demographic of the show are tweens who favor slightly adrogynous, non-threatening boys in their dreamboats and idols. He’s had a lot of memorable routines this season, but probably none are as memorable as Nigel “finding” him in Wapakoneta like a diamond in the rough.
Oh, I’m gonna get some major veggies tonight. Time for bed while y’all hurl ’em my way. 🙂
John’s Update:
Since Emilie is too nice to make the power rankings, I’ll help her out:
1. Kent Boyd – Can you say Allison Holker and Stacey Tookey?
2. Lauren Froderman – Girl power!!
3. Robert Roldan – Come back kid, but not quite.
The good thing is that it seems the consensus is that most people would be happy with any of these 3 winning the show. That really is a first for SYTYCD. They’re all GREAT!!
Emilie, you won’t be getting veggies from me!! I think you’re spot on. My 2 favorite routines tonight both involved Robert, surprise surprise. His broadway with Kathryn was so great, I’d say it was the best broadway piece we’ve had this season. Can Spencer just do all the broadway numbers from now on?! Robert dialed by the cheese just enough to get into this character, and his extension was just ridiculous. That lift where he put her right over his head reminded me a lot of Neil’s lift of Sabra during their table dance. Really cool.
I really really liked his contemporary with Lauren, especially because the last time they danced together it was a samba so it was great to see them in their own element. My only thing with the pillow is that I thought it was a little big. It overtook poor Lauren, but I thought she handled it well. The movements were beautiful and smooth and powerful, I thought it was great.
I wanted Sonya to choreograph Robert and Mark. Ugh, Tyce. I saw a guy who does reviews on YouTube and he said the music reminded him of the Swiffer commercial, hahaha. I got distracted by the fact that they look alike, and the matching outfits didn’t help, lol. They needed different costumes to really distinguish them, but I thought they both did the best that they could with what they were given.
Lauren’s solo outfit reminded me a bit of Jeanine’s final solo outfit, only in red. Coincidence? I doubt it.
I wanted to like the Bollywood number more than I did. I thought it was a really good one, but I thought Robert and Billy’s from a couple weeks ago was better, and no one can touch Joshua and Katee. It’s funny, my parents watch the show with me tonight and after Kent’ routine they both said, “that was good”. Then, I showed them Joshua and Katee and they both said, “wow, that was fabulous”.
Kent’s routine with Allison was interesting for me because immediately after I watched it, I loved it. I thought it was great to see another side of Kent’s dancing and while I agree lifts aren’t his strong suit I was kind of willing to overlook that. Then, as the three ran around like monkeys at the end of the show and mugged for the camera, I realized that I like that Kent, the broadway Kent, much better than I like serious Kent. Something about it just didn’t feel natural, and I’m not totally sure he understood what he was feeling either. Allison killed it though, wow.
And the last dance, oh boy. I wanted Russian trepak, I think we got Brandon vs. Evan part 2. At least Brandon and Evan got something that was in the wheelhouse of what they’d been dancing their season, this was just woah. I totally agree about the pants, they were super distracting. If they had done the whole thing without the jackets, I think it would have made a world of difference. The jackets kind of made them look like they were little kids and raided their father’s closet for costumes. I declared Robert the winner of that battle though.
Overall, though, probably one of the stronger final performance shows we’ve ever had. Well done to all 3 dancers. If I had to do a ranking, I’d put Robert and Lauren in an almost dead heat (I liked Robert better in their contemporary, I didn’t love the Kent/Lauren number, but Robert lost a few points for me with that last dance). And Kent right there with them. Oh goodness, I just don’t know!!
If it were my choice alone (and oh how I wish it were!) I would rank them as Robert 1st, Lauren 2nd, and Kent 3rd. I do also agree, though, that any of the 3 would make a great champion…and all 3 of them are going to get a TON of work!!! :o)
Emilie, you get nothing but roses from me. Superb commentary. My entire comment could be, “What she said!”
SYTYCD fans, we all agree that no one will be upset with whoever ends up winning. Robert is on an upward trajectory and it’s good to be peaking at the end of the season… but Lauren is simply THE best dancer, hands down. If it’s a popularity contest, Kent wins. So it’s really a contest between skill, growth, and popularity. There’s no way to say which of those three is a more worthy accomplishment.
I wish all three of our finalists long careers with much success and satisfaction.
No veggies here either – I agree word for word! All 3 are good, and I’ll be happy to see any win, though.
Can we retire male-male ballroom now? Two attempts and two horrible misses.
Regarding Kent’s disposition after dancing w/ Alison….I almost thought he was just PO’d at the judges for not loving the previous dance with him and Lauren that showed off his “fun” side. To me..I felt like he was “acting mad” saying..I just wanna dance..(get off and stop judging me)……and the judges (Mia and Adam) took it for..”oh Kent is now getting it and becoming an artist”.
I think he was fed up.
Lauren is my choice..she’s perfection to me.
Bravo, Ms. Emilie. Good work. I will not throw anything your way, don’t worry!
I thought Kent had a weak night, except for his dance with Allison, which was my favorite of the night (narrowly beating out the hip hop routine). To me, though, I felt he was going through something real during that dance…but his way of dealing with real emotions is to try and talk his way out. Think the Vegas breakdown. Some people can’t speak at all when they’re holding back emotions–others can’t shut up. I think Kent is the latter.
I felt, for some reason, like his saying “i don’t care what other people think” and “I just wanna dance” was directed at something bigger–and I think he’s been faced with a lot since the show began. I don’t think he’ll go home to Ohio, put it that way.
I want Lauren to win. I didn’t think I’d have a favorite (or really care enough to vote) after Chike left, but she won me last night. She was phenomenal. She really reminded me of Jeanine last night, who was my favorite female dancer ever on the show….but ironically, I didn’t fully appreciate her until after Melissa left during the top 6. I had to go back and refresh my memory and it was then that I was sold. Same thing here. Not a weak dance this season, really. And she’s matured in a beautiful way. Started out like Mollee, imo, and ended up like a Sabra (personality wise). Good stuff.
Kent had a weak night. He’s not an accomplished soloist yet, but he’s grown in that way. But I see what Emilie means by his “weakness” regarding his lifts. Nigel mentioned it, and I think he’s right. But that will come with time. Most boys don’t fully mature, muscularly, until they’re 19-20. Heck, my husband was a skinny kid at 20 and has gained so much muscle by age 30 that some of his friends from HS thought he took steroids. lol Just happens that way.
Robert is a great soloist. I thought he really showed growth in his solo. But in his partner dances tonight he did what he usually does for me…which is flails about. The final dance didn’t have the grounded power (but that was amplified because the dance was atrocious, I think) and the Broadway had the same problem to me. Wish I could put it in words….I’m demonstrating with my body right now, but y’all can’t see me. lol I feel like Mia today. “I wanted to see grrrrarrgghh but I got wassoooouuuu.” haha!
Anyhow, my choices are:
1. Lauren
2. Kent
3. Robert.
But that’s “hope” not “prediction”.
This was not Kent’s strongest night, primarily because of Mandy Moore’s choreography. Consider all the possibilities with the Jazz category and it was a shame – IMHO – that she came up with the mugging and Kent-isms. Cute but not for the finals. HOWEVER, Kent came back with one of those moments where you sit back and say, “Wow! That was a show stopper.” Last week it was the Travis Wall number. Last night, the Contemporary with Allison blew it out of the water.
I agree with Beth’s ‘hopes.’ However, Kent’s peeps will probably vote him to the top spot. Like others have said, I’ll be happy with whoever wins.
WHAT A SEASON.
Last night was a great finale show! I thought all the dances were strong, except for the Malevos (please never again) and Mandy Moores jazz. The jazz wasn’t bad, it just was a little too bubblegum for a finale. I’m going to see if I can find any Tango pro’s dancing the Malevos online and see if the dance in itself is really that bad, or if the guys just didn’t pull it off.
Ok did anyone else want to be spooning with Robert in silk jammies?
I hope Robert wins, but I think that Lauren will win. I would be happy with either though. I would say that this is probably the strongest top 3 in a while, they are all so good and either of the 3 could take the prize.
I think a cool finale treat would be to see some of the choreographers dance. Spencer and Travis still activey dance professionally, and it would be cool to see NappyTabs or Stacey Tookey or Sonya dance one of their own pieces too. I always think its so cool to see the choreographers dancing little pieces in the rehearsal footage.
I voted for Lauren. A lot. She has been a favorite of mine since Vegas when she added some flair to the Broadway number and it hasn’t stopped since then. Yes, other dancers have gone above and beyond like Alex but I’ve always had a place for Lo Fro. Robert has never really resonated with me until the performance finale but it wasn’t enough. And Kent lost me weeks ago. Lauren really IS dancing like an All Star!
In regards to last night, I actually adored Kent & Lauren’s Mandy piece. I think Lauren put SO MUCH personality into it that Kent just couldn’t keep up. She was the sexy square like in She’s All That. She absolutely killed in the Hip Hop. She was amazing in the contemporary with Robert. And her cha cha…I really expected a train wreck. I truly did. I thought…oh no! A Ballroom number in a finale full of contemporary dancers, who thought this up?! But she blew me away.
Kent’s Bollywood looked sloppy. His dance with Robert was awkward to watch for some of the reasons mentioned with previous guy-on-guy Ballroom dances. I realize it was supposed to be a battle but some of it just…felt wrong. That’s why you don’t put warm-up exercises on the main stage! His contemporary with Allison was captivating though, and such a strong conceptual idea that I think it truly hit Kent somewhere hard. He’s not so pretty when he’s not smiling.
Robert had a good night with Kathryn though, that West Side Story piece was so incredibly strong. His piece with Mark was not impressive at all, but I typically dislike Tyce’s choreography anyway.
Personally I hope they put Mia’s group routine “Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic” on in the results finale so we can see what it would look like with Lauren dancing instead of Allison. I doubt it will look better tho, that group routine was absolute perfection. The best on the show – EVER. I watched it 10 times before the performance finale.
this season was a true Lovefest.
you can really tell that the top 3 love and support one another and will be thrilled for the winner.
Maybe because all 3 are about the same age?
it was nice for once to not see the dancer’s egos.
notice i said dancers???
i can’t say the same about the judges- cough,cough- Big-MammaMia and Mr.Nigel Lythgoe.
Lo Fro is a chameleon. she can execute any genre perfectly. Then there’s Kent. he’s so love-able, he’s just so darn easy to like/love.
On a sidenote- I have had issues with wardrobe this season- Kent looked ridiculous in that oversized bollywood coat and the Zoot suits in the maelvos were odd.
I love Rachel’s idea of having choreographers dance on the finale…spencer, stacey t., dee, sonya.
AHHHHH!
Mia said something last night that I just absolutely loved about Kent and Laurens piece. I loved that she clearly stated that even though she did like the choreography she still thought they danced it well. Anyways @Emilie I think you and i are the only one the wanted to see jeanine and phillip take over last night.
Thanks for the excellent recap. I thought Lauren was a step above the others tonight, and she is my favorite. But honestly, I will be happy with any winner. There is something to like about each of them, whether it’s Kent’s enthusiasm, Robert’s emotional growth or Lauren’s talent and consistency. That said, I have a few points.
The judges mentioned that Lauren might be the best contemporary dancer doing ballroom, and that might be so. But I would argue more that she is the best female Hip-Hop dancer the show has ever had. Regardless of her contemporary background, she has hit the hip-hop routines harder than anyone. I would say she is better than Comfort was in her season in her own genre. (side note: I think Comfort is the most improved dancer from her competition season. I never thought she was the strongest, but she has looked like a different dancer this year).
Secondly, I want to mention Allison. She has, in my view, been in a league of her own this season. Katherine and Lauren have also been great pro’s, but Allison seems to dance at a different level. In almost every routine she has danced this season she has raised the emotional bar for her contestant (even Jose with the stage edge piece). She exploded right at the start with the Alex Wong piece and never slowed down. There was no other all-star who so impacted the dances they were in.
In the end, I think Lauren was the strongest dancer, and my favorite. She grew, never slowed down, charged through every challenge and might be the most well rounded dancer they have ever had on the show.
But then again, Kent has that gymnastic athleticism that Neal brought, along with some Ivan innocence and a that small town smile.
But of course, Robert looks stunning in every dance he does and had the roughest journey of the three and really grew all season. I thought the comment about his being humble was spot on. He went from goofy face at the start, to honest dancer by the end.
So after all this, even with the little trips (injuries, fluff, tap, tyce, no MM), this season will be one of the most memorable ever. I will remember more dancers from this season then any other and I think the quality of the dancing was at a higher level than ever before. Even with all the injuries, this season has been one of the most enjoyable ever.
@RonnyRogue, you make some awesome points. In terms of Lauren being the best contemporary girl at ballroom the show has ever had, but I’d have to disagree, I think Kayla takes that title. I mean the girl did a fabulous samba week 1, who does that?!! she only had 2 other ballroom, viennese waltz with kupono (they made the hot tamale train, who does that?! and her jive with evan at the finale, but I think she’s still the best they’ve had.
Totally agree with you about Allison, I listed her in my highlights/lowlights post as one of my MVPs (along with Kathryn). Last night, she was amazing. I laughed when she said, “see what I have to deal with, America?” when talking about Kent and I thought back to a funny clip of her and Ivan during S2 basically acting just like Kent. She’s an incredible dancer and she makes everyone around her better.
Your right about Kayla, and I bet a few others if I thought back on it (Sabra maybe, and Katheryn too). But that was one of the things lacking this season, critical judging of ballroom. It was hard to know how technically well most of the ballroom routines were done. Without Mary Murphy, no judge seemed able to communicate if a ballroom performance was actually done properly. Instead we got a lot of “your personality showed through” and “you had so much power on the lifts” and other generic comments.
So, as an amateur, it was difficult to actually differentiate ballroom dances that looked good and were technically brilliant versus those that just looked good. Mary was able to break this down for the viewers and help us understand what made the different ballroom dances challenging.
Thus, I’ll probably never be able to really know how good anyone was at ballroom this season… That being said, there was no ballroom standout I think in the first place, there was no Anya or Schwimmer clan member, or even a Dimitri amongst the contestants.
Still, one suggestion for next season is having a judge who knows ballroom, perhaps a rotating judge (they seemed to get stale at times with the 3).
Oh.. and no more dances that rely on creating SOUND. Tap, Step etc… although they may seem a nice way to “broaden” the dancing of the show, it does not work in this format. One of the reason’s tap exists, is because it is a fusion of dance and music, same with the others… part of the joy in it is the sounds that it makes. But this is not what this show should be about, it’s as if we allowed a dancer to start singing in the middle of a broadway routine, it is simply out of place with the other dancing.
That said, I would like to see them tailor some of the routines towards peoples specialties in the last weeks. Ok, well it’s for selfish reasons… but I want to see Alex Wong do Ballet next year if he were to make it to the end. They won’t give ballet to a non ballet dancer, but if they have one, I see no reason not to have a routine in each persons traditional style on the finale week.
Love Lauren but Kayla is the best in ballroom, her samba was perfection.
Have you guys seen this: http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/Tvbythenumbers/~3/V2uUd3xk8uY/59821 ?
So this is the dance legend? Seriously? I love Ellen, but I was expecting a true dancer and for me the joke is just not funny.
Oh, I hope it is Ellen! I love love love her! 🙂
You know, I think having any “real” dancer in that spot wouldn’t do justice to Alex…can’t have anyone outdance him in his own dance.
And I credit Ellen for the re-emergence of dance in this country…she brought dance to a whole new audience, and she encouraged everyone to dance, regardless of how you looked or how good you were. And not long after that, we saw dance movies and TV shows, etc. Ellen is a great dance ambassador.
“Acting like Rainman”?
Really? Making fun of Autistic people? Wow. I’m sure everyone involved with SYTYCD would be disgusted to see that commentary.
I just saw the news about Ellen too. I’m not sure, but I’m sure to enjoy seeing her do it.
Of course, as Marianya said, “I’d rather it were Cat.” Seriously, is there anyone that wouldn’t want to see Cat dance?
Honestly I think I’m just a little tired of all the Ellen talk, because of American Idol, and I did not like her at all as a guest judge on SYTYCD. And I just feel that bringing Ellen in is just so out of place.
But, if it was Cat, I would LOVE it! I mean, it would be just legendary!
Over the past few days, I’ve put together that it was Ellen doing this, and she just about spilled the beans herself last night. Nigel tweeted that he was “pissed that people spoiled the surprise”, get over it Nigel.
A highlight that I forgot to put in my post for the season:
SPENCER LIFF!!
Last season, we were introduced to Spencer and his great choreography. His charismatic and charming and the dancers always look like they enjoy doing his routines. I would argue that he’s been the most consistent choreographer the past 2 seasons. He has hit home run after home run, starting with Ryan and Ellenore’s Razzle Dazzle through Interrogation last night with Robert and Kathryn. He has an incredible ability to make traditional Broadway feel hip and contemporary without sacrificing the integrity of the music and the movements.
If you want to see Spencer dancing, check out the most recent Hairspray movie that Adam choreographed, he’s in “You Can’t Stop the Beat” as one of the “Nicest Kids in Town”
I’m so excited by everyone’s comments – by how extensive they are and by the lack of veggies being thrown at my head (in New Orleans, they throw cabbages and such in the St. Patty’s Day parade, so I can tell you that they hurt, lol).
@Julia and beth: Oooohhh, I wasn’t sure how to feel about Ellen taking over Alex’s role, but now I think it could be really awesome. She’s a pretty funky dancer and Julia makes great points that we don’t want Alex out-danced and this will be an entertaining tribute. and @John: Seeing Cat dance would be phenomenal.
@Julia: While it was stated rather flippantly, and I’m sorry for any offense my flippancy might have caused, I have to say that I found Kent’s sudden switch to serious to be off-kilter. In fact, he seemed very interior at that moment and it was awkward to watch him up there having (maybe?!) a genuinely emotional moment and the judges were cooing and ahhing over his artistic moment and his growth. So yeah, he did seem like he needed not to be on stage in front of thousands of people with Nigel making cracks about cows and farms.
@Margaret: Spencer Liff is amazing. Agreed.
@John: Lol. I just saw your update. Actually, we said the exact same thing, we just said them in reversed ways. 😛 But thanks for chiming in.
