SYTYCD Season 7 Finale Part 2 Music
Well…on the discussion post, I said that I might have to flip back and forth between the SYTYCD finale and the first Saints pre-season game. Well, the good news is that I won’t have to flip back and forth. The bad news is that my local FOX channel has pre-empted the SYTYCD finale in order to show the first Saints pre-season game. I won’t be able to see the show till 10:30 local time.
You have to understand that little else matters in New Orleans during football season. We love our Saints. Though, I’m a little ticked off with them at the moment.
My mom lives in Atlanta, so she’s gonna help me out with the music. If you can see the show and would like to help me, please do.

Watch SYTYCD finale 2night! LXD’s @chrislxd choreographed the ammmaazing opening group number & Nathan Lanier (LXD composer) wrote the song!
Well, I am terribly disappointed that Robert did not win. He is an innovative dancer with an wide range of talent and interpretation. It doesn’t surprise me that Lauren won, although good, she does not dance outside the box, and fulfills the typical “sexy” female role, which I think she is unaware of. Her costumes alone were typical Las Vegas. No, I will no longer watch So You Think You Can Dance. Wake up, Lauren, and dance with innovation, well known female dancers with distinctive style do not flaunt, they interpret. See Alvin Ailey, Mark Morris, etc. But it’s all so predictable, Americans give $250,000 to the wrong person.
I think that the Mandi Moore routine with Neil Haskell and Charlie Bruce was just beautiful — I have to say that Neil became the all star this year. In the finale, he had two routines with Kent and the routine with Charlie Bruce. Neil has always been one of my favorites – love him.
Im tired of it just being the judges doing al picking their favorite routines to be performed! i wish they would let the top 3( or 4 how many they have make to the finale)….like they used to! And i wish they would have brought Legacy back to dance with Jose…….or Billy! that would been a sight to see!
[...] to our Twitter followers, @loulzb in particular, I was able to update the music post as the show happened and NOW, I’m watching it on the local FOX channel, so I get a refresher [...]
The Ra song isn’t on iTunes because it’s from the LXD soundtrack, which hasn’t officially been released yet.
@Chad: Well, hopefully they’ll put a single out on iTunes while we’re waiting for the soundtrack.
LXD rocks and that song was pretty killer.
What was the song used for the final montage of Lauren and Kent??
@Glory, I’m with you on that one. I loved how in season 2, they let the finalists pick their favorite routines, because they almost all chose a routine you wouldn’t expect. Donyelle, a contemporary/hip hop girl, chose broadway. Travis, a contemporary guy, chose paso doble, Heidi, a ballroom girl, chose contemporary. Benji, a swing dancer, chose mambo (but it was the Black Mambo so it was kind of expected).
I’ll once again take the opportunity to profess my love for Spencer Liff and ask why we didn’t see any of his routines tonight?!! I would actually have rather seen Kent/José’s broadway, even though I LOVE Neil.
I’m also really glad they didn’t pick routines that we saw last night, like in S5 when they picked Jeanine and Brandon’s paso and they performed it again the next night.
Black Gold was nice tonight. Totally taped, but what are they suppose to do? All the shows do it. They had a bit of a Beatles sound to them when they first started. Interesting sound for sure.
loved the song that Qwest danced to, it sounded very “Triplets of Belleville”
@Miss B Gottin: Forgot to say – awwww, pooor you, that totally sucks! Actually, one of our Twitter followers came through for me and sent a live link to watch the show online. Click on the link in my thoughts post and save it for next time, maybe it’ll work then, too. Enjoy the show when you see it!
@BrianM: I love Neil, too. He’s amazing. He was under-utilized this season, but when he was on the show – wow. W O W.
Does anyone know the title and artist of the song they played in the commercial just before Wednesday’s show? It has female vocals and is techno/dance. I think I heard the lyrics wrong, but it sounded something like “don’t lie for me” several times.
@Nightwalker193: Do you know what product or company the commercial was for?
