Tonight’s episode shocked me horribly.
My #1 routine from last night ended up not only in the bottom 3, but were the two couples sent home!
I can#t believe they got into the Bottom 3, however, given one of their solo’s I knew they would be going home.
Here is how the show went:
Melissa & Christian – safe
Denitsa & Joey – not safe
JP & Geisha – safe (I was shocked!)
Jordan & Shane – now safe (I was shocked!)
Carlena & Adam – safe
Francois & Lindsey – safe
Shelaina & Kevin – not safe (I was shocked!)
Yulia & Matt -safe (I was shocked!)
These voting results had be absolutely stunned!
Onto the solos:
GALS:
Denitsa – “These Boots were made for walking” – Nancy Sinatra
She did well. It was her style, which she excels at, but I have yet to see much else outside of this that wow’s me.
Jordan – “Gorecki” – Lamb
Stunning, beautiful, if she was sent home for this solo, or this week, I think I actually may have stopped watching!
Shelaina –
Her solo was pretty weak. While I DO NOT think she should have been in the Bottom 3, based on solo’s alone, her was the weakest. Which is too bad because she is one of my favourites this season and was my favuorite routine last night!
GUYS:
Joey –
Amazing, he is so beautiful to watch.
Shane –
Another fantastic solo
Kevin –
another great solo, all the men were fabulous.
Results:
Shelaina and Kevin were sent home, in what I think is a complete upset!
What do you think? I am still surprised! I hopepeople start voting, I mean Jordan in bottom three? With that amazing routine last night? Shelaina and Kevin? really?
Comment Below – Please, I am dying for others thoughts on this!!!
Oh and sorry for lack of music, I was really in shock and focused on the solo’s not the songs tonigt, my apologies!
I was in shock too… My three favorites dances on monday night was Christian and Melissa, Shane and Jordan, Kevin and Shelaina… 2 out of 3 were in the bottom 3 and I have absolutely no idea why…Maybe Canada think they were safe because the judges love them so much but…
Yeah, I’m right there with you, Magali. Those three girls are amazing. How did two of the top three girls end up in the bottom??
Denitza doesn’t really impress me outside of her style, and this was her second time in the bottom, so why they gave her a pass, I have no idea–except that she’s ballroom and the other two are contemporary (and maybe, JM has a thing for her). There was no way they were going to let Jordan go. She’s been in the most memorable dances of the three, but Shelaina was in more memorable dances than Denitza (well, I remember the Beiber vampire hip-hop thing, but not because it was good).
As for the guys, all three have never been in the bottom and all three are contemporary. Shane could NOT go home. The dance he did with Melissa in week 2 has to be in the tour (does Canada tour?). That’s probably what kept Joey safe too: his and Jordan’s routines are both highlights so far. Kevin’s dances with Teya were okay and that may have hurt him (that waltz was pretty sad).
Even so, two of those couples shouldn’t have been anywhere near the bottom. And if JP and Matt ended up down there with Kevin, he might have been safe.
I was both shocked and horrified. Nothing against any of the dancers, but really, Shelaina was way too good to be going home so soon and Kevin is miles ahead of JP (he’s a great guy and I love his personality but he has a long way to go before he is anywhere close to the other men.) Very disappointed in this result.
I was quite surprised at the voting and it made me really wonder what is going to happen this season. That was not a fair bottom three for both guys and girls, but weird things do happen when they let voters choose! There is a really strong group of contemporary dancers – so while Shelaina and Kevin are both really good, of the contemporary dancers they weren’t my favourites and I was ok with this being their time to go. I’m guessing that some of the dancers have a lot of voter support and this may continue – I’m guessing JP, Matt, and maybe Carlena (or is it Adam) have gained some voter support that may push them through even if the routine is weak. Adam did the best he could with that odd theatre piece, but Carlena was struggling and she may well have a hard time with anything too far out of the hip hop genre.
I don’t understand how Denitsa stayed to be honest, I think it truly is Jean-Marc’s crush – *gag*
Don’t get me wrong, she is talented, and in her style – amazing… but overall, well-rounded? Not so much!
I also understand there are a lot of fantastic contemporary dancers, and as I said, given the solo’s Shelaina’s was weakest in my opinion, but her routine Monday night was steller! She shouldn’t have been in the bottom 3!
Ah well – moving forward, I am still rooting for Jordan as best dancer, or at least best female… for males, I would have to say Joey to be honest.
