My previous SYTYCD twitter roundup was so popular that I decided to do it again. Here’s a quick look at some of the best, most interesting, entertaining and fun tweets from around the SYTYCD twittersphere.

MJ Tribute on SYTYCD
The big news on the Twittersphere was Nigel trying to put together a Michael Jackson tribute. Of course, SONY seems to be not clearing Michael’s music. Here’s the important tweets about it:

Nigel sent the following tweets:

I’m sure that Nigel was referring to sex the dancer, but I have a strong feeling that both meanings are true. Ok, I’m a bit biased since Crazy Mary drives me absolutely bonkers *mute*

We’ve finished auditions, hooray! Things are back to normal. I hope?
Yes, that’s the end of SYTYCD season 6 auditions. You’ll have to wait another year if you didn’t audition already.

Nigel also tweeted a few pictures of Mary and Mia making some ugly faces. Too ugly to post here. Plus, one had Mia’s cleavage and that’s just wrong. I could never submit my readers to that.

The Knicks City Dancers are officially holding open auditions for those wanting to dance for the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden. Courtney Galiano, former Knicks City Dancer and of course a “So You Think You Can Dance” contestant, will be sitting next to Shane Sparks at the auditions. They will be watching the talent that will fight for a spot on the Knicks City Dancers squad.

It makes a lot of sense for Courtney Galiano to be there as a judge for the Knicks City Dancers. She was one before and is a great dancer. I’m not exactly sure why they have Shane Sparks as a judge. Not that I blame Shane. Sounds like a great job to me.

This is my first edition of what I believe will be many posts talking about the various tweets being sent on Twitter by those related to or on So You Think You Can Dance. Twitter has really become a great way to be able to connect with So You Think You Can Dance. It’s how I got my interview with Bollywood choreographer Nakul and how I was able to connect with Nappytabs for a future interview (assuming things don’t fall apart). Anyway, you can check out our list of So You Think You Can Dance twitter accounts to stay up with your favorite people from SYTYCD. Otherwise, here’s our quick summary of some of the things happening on twitter related to SYTYCD:

Snap, Crackle, and Pop wrote a nice piece covering Lacey Schwimmer’s distaste for the current season of So You Think You Can Dance. Here are Lacey Schwimmer’s tweets about SYTYCD. Seems like she should have had a lesson in PR before sending these out, but I’ll let you be the judge. Here they are:
“Is at home watching a certain reality show….and is very disappointed :/”

and

I think that most people know that Nigel Lythgoe was having surgery this weekend. Nigel had to miss the SYTYCD season 6 auditions in New Orleans, but is suppose to be back for the show on Wednesday. Nigel tweeted the following after his surgery, “Post-op news. The surgery was a complete success. I now have permanent earplugs!!!! Only kidding, my disc op was evidently completed well!”

Nigel also sent the following tweet to Paula Abdul, “@PaulaAbdul a very very Happy Birthday. I do hope you’re coming to mine. Are you going to choreograph on SYTYCD this year?” Could be interesting and good for ratings to have Paula Abdul on So You Think You Can Dance. I’m not so excited to see her on the show, but it should be a bit of a ratings boost and great to get a big name on the show. Better than that lip syncer.

Adam Shankman sent out this tweet, “Me, @danabrunetti, and the real Deeley. She’s goin on Twitter soon, get ready! http://yfrog.com/0wvw4xj” Did he just say Cat Deeley would be on twitter soon? We’ll be watching for this. I can’t wait.

Lil’ C tweeted about the So You Think You Can Dance 6 auditions, “Jus saw some New Orleans Bounce!!!! It was Bucc!!!!” and “Found some diamonds in the rough yesterday, and hoping that we unearth more gems in todays auditions…operating on no sleep, bucc’n it out!” and “It’s been a very long audition day in New Orleans folks!!!!!! A very long day indeed, and I’ve only used the word “Bucc” 1x”

Let me know if you like this. Maybe we should turn it into a regular post. Good news is it looks like I’m going to be bringing on some help. Not enough of me to go around. Watch for that soon.

More details are coming out about Katie Holmes possible appearance on So You Think You Can Dance. A local ABC station reports that Katie Holmes will be doing a tribute dance to Judy Garland. They also quote a witness who said the following:

For the routine, a witness tells Us that Holmes will don an all-black outfit, including a velvet fedora, patent-leather heels, and nylon stockings. Eight male dancers will kick up their heels alongside the actress in matching suits and ties. The number ends in a flourish with Holmes tossing her fedora in the air for one of the men to catch.

“[Holmes] is killing it,” a source tells Us.”She looks incredible. She is just doing an amazing job. Everyone is absolutely floored by how talented she is.”

A custom set was made for the production, which gives the illusion that Holmes is performing on a rooftop against a sky backdrop, acccording to the witness.

The article also says that it might happen on tonight’s performance instead of for the 100th SYTYCD episode on July 8th. I guess that’s what they do when the surprise performance gets leaked to the media.

Last season, Kherington Payne was my favorite dancer. So, you can imagine my joy to find out that Kherington Payne had a major part in Fame. Turns out that Jason Williams from SYTYCD season 2 is also on the show. Check out the trailer which includes some really nice images of Kherington Payne, but honestly includes a lot of really talented people. I’m excited to see Fame this Fall.

Rumors first started about Katie Holmes a while back when Katie met with Nigel Lythgoe. Today Zap2it has confirmed that Katie Holmes will be appearing on So You Think You Can Dance.

Katie Holmes (or should I say Mrs. Cruise) did sing and dance on “Eli Stone” last year (I still miss Eli Stone). Katie also appeared on Broadway in “All My Sons.” Considering the disaster that was the dancers with Sean Kingston last week and the other disaster that was Tyce Diorio’s broadway choreography maybe it’s a match made in heaven.

Suffice it to say that I’m not a real fan of having Katie Holmes on the show. I’d prefer to see some better dance talent. Possibly even past SYTYCD contestants like they do so well on American Idol. That said, I’m happy that someone as famous as Katie Holmes is willing to come on So You Think You Can Dance. I’m all about raising the profile of the show so that we get to enjoy the dancing for many years to come.

I just got news that beloved Katee Shean has launched a makeup line with a company called Cliche Cosmetics. I’ve been told “She designed every detail of the two compacts included in the line. There’s one for stage and one for everyday.” Interesting move by Katee Shean. Since I’m a man, I’ll be interested to hear what the female readers think of this line. Oh yes, that means I should probably give some away. Good idea, watch for a contest for free Katee Shean makeup very soon. Or you can buy them on the Cliche Cosmetics website right now.

Turns out that Courtney Galiano and Chelsie Hightower will also be launching lines on July 20th and August 3rd respectively.

I just found out that on Thursday, June 11th for the So You Think You Can Dance top 20 results show, Sean Kingston will perform his new single, “Fire Burning on the Dance Floor” A nice little bit of news I thought I’d share.

Since we’re in the Las Vegas round, it’s the perfect time to have what I’m calling the SYTYCD rant. This is where I’m going to rant about my favorite dancers getting sent home. Only problem is that I’m on the west coast and so I still have an hour until the show airs. Once the show airs I’ll be updating this post with my feelings on who I thought shouldn’t have been sent home. Until I get to enjoy So You Think You Can Dance, I welcome you to post your SYTYCD rant in the comments. Come on! Let it all out. It will make you feel better to see other people who feel the same way you do.

My SYTYCD rants…

Natalie Reid – I’m sure that no one will be surprised with this rant. What a way to cut tonight’s episode. First, you show Natalie Reid and Brandon Bryant rocking out and demonstrating Sonya’s choreography for the others and then next thing you know she’s being kicked off of So You Think You Can Dance. I do have to agree that Natalie’s actual performance wasn’t as good as what Brandon and her did together, but it does seem like something’s missing in this story.

Everyone watching the show from home thought that Natalie Reid should have gotten a chance to dance for their life. To be honest, they didn’t use the Dance for Your Life card nearly enough this season. Lil’ C said on his twitter that you only get to dance for your life if someone disagrees, but they said that Natalie Reid going home was unanimous. I guess there goes my theory that she maybe did dance for her life and it just landed on the virtual cutting room floor.

All of this said, I thought that Natalie Reid would make it to the So You Think You Can Dance top 20, but I wasn’t too disappointed to see her go. Just sad for her more than anything.

Caitlin Kinney Dancing for Her Life
Ok, I know that Caitlin kind of screwed up Mia’s choreography, but that doesn’t matter to me. The judges should lay their hands off my Caitlin Kinney. Sure, I was glad to be able to see more of Caitlin Kinney dancing, but they definitely shouldn’t have scared me by leaving the vote to Mary Murphy. Seriously, it may be the only time I was happy with Mary Murphy this season. She made a phenomenal choice to keep Caitlin Kinney on the show.

Ok, so yes I’m showing some utter and complete bias on this rant, but that’s what being a fan is all about. Now everyone that reads this website will know my bias up front. Although, I reserve the right to change my mind.

Mia is Such a Wench
There are probably a few other words that aptly describe Mia, but I like to avoid using those words. Don’t get me wrong. I enjoy watching her choreography. She definitely has an awkwardly creative mind that has hit a few home runs on So You Think You Can Dance. I just didn’t like her as a judge. She was so arrogant about being a judge. Nice to see she’s opinionated, but it went too far a few times I think. Of course, Mary Murphy is still at the top of my list of least favorite judges and will remain there forever. Anyone else notice that Mary Murphy said so little in this round. That’s because she says so little of worth.

Missing Dancers
I’m not really sure how they resolve this issue, but I’d like to get to know more of the dancers and see more of the dances. I’ll give the show a bit of a pass since they have a lot of dancing to cram into 2 hours. However, I wish they offered the bonus footage of all the extra dancing and outtakes on fox.com. Maybe they’ll finally figure that out in their 10th season of the show.

I must admit that I thought I’d have a lot more rants. I think that’s a really good sign for the show. It was incredibly entertaining and the quality of the dancers in the top 20 is awesome. I can’t wait to find out who are the official So You Think You Can Dance top 20. Are there any other SYTYCD rants that I missed?
