Welcome to Pure So You Think You Can Dance

Gustavo Vargas is an amazing dancer, choreographer and actor, who played a salsa dancer in the movie “Along came Polly”. He choreographed a number of routines on SYTYCD Canada and recently debuted as a choreographer on SYTYCD USA Season 6.

In So You Think You Can Dance Canada Season 2 Gustavo choreographed:

His Salsa Dance for Mollee and Nathan in Top 16 didn’t fair well as Mollee and Nathan received a lot of critiques from the judges and though the dancers chemistry and technique were off, Gustavo’s choreography was fantastic.

Nigel identified the good things in Guastavo’s routine and Mary pointed out how Gustavo is known as “suavo” for being suave and that Nathan lacked that emotion in the routine.

Nonetheless Nathan felt “HOT” and I personally enjoyed the routine.

I look forward to see more Gustavo on SYTYCD.

Some surprising news coming out of the SYTYCD world today. If you all haven’t heard, Mia Michaels took to her Twitter yesterday to announce that she’s leaving our beloved show after 5 years. The reaction has been intense. Many people feel that the show won’t be the same without Mia, which is definitely true. Over the seasons, her pieces have been among the most memorable ones ever performed. Just think about these…

-Ashlé and Melody’s Message in a Bottle dance

-Travis and Heidi’s Bench dance

-season 2 group routine to “Hide and Seek”

-Lacey and Kameron’s week 1 contemporary

-her tribute to her father danced by Lacey and Neil

-Chelsie and Mark’s “what would Tim Burton’s wedding look like?”

-Kherington and Twitch’s dance on the bed

these are a selection of Mia’s best dances, but there are obviously more. It’s pretty obvious this show has meant a lot to Mia, she’s an Emmy winner because of SYTYCD.

This is a really great video from the So You Think You Can Dance 2009 LA auditions. You get to see a bunch of the crazy personalities of the dancers and they even have a bunch of clips of people busting some moves on the sidewalk. The line in LA seemed pretty long too. This is not quite a So You Think You Can Dance season 5 spoiler video, but pretty close. Things are looking good for So You Think You Can Dance 5. Can’t wait to see the SYTYCD 5 premiere tonight. This is a pretty nice video outside the So You Think You Can Dance 2009 auditions in Memphis. You get to meet some of the dancers.
