More Hip Hop (Poppers) and Break Dancers from So You Think You Can Dance Canada

I’ve already posted the video of Taeyeon Kim from So You Think You Can Dance Canada. I just found a video of a bunch more of the Hip Hop, Poppers and break dancers from the Toronto auditions of So You Think You Can Dance Canada. This group includes: Taeyeon “TK” Kim, Miles Faber, Jesse Catibog, and Karl Abla.

I’d say a pretty diverse set of dancers. Looks like Canada is going to put on quite the dance show.

Tatiana Parker Audition from So You Think You Can Dance Canada

In my ongoing search of footage from So You Think You Can Dance Canada, I found this video audition of Tatiana Parker from SYTYCDC Toronto auditions.

At first I didn’t think much of Tatiana’s dancing, but as she continued to dance her kind of unique look and moves kind of grew on me. I’m sure her solos would get boring if she makes it to the top 20, but still fun to watch Tatiana audition.

Taeyeon Kim (TK) from So You Think You Can Dance Canada

Taeyeon Kim “TK” offered a really interesting mix of hip hop/popping to classical music in his audition for So You Think You Can Dance Canada. At first seeing TK dance just felt a little odd, but the more he went on I really liked what he offered. He took what would normally be a rather uninteresting classical piece and turned it into something fun and interesting.

Check out the Toronto audition video of Taeyeon Kim (TK) from So You Think You Can Dance Canada (SYTYCDC):

Also, I’m trying to find a nice list of all the So You Think You Can Dance Canada music. If anyone has one, let me know. Otherwise, I’ll try to piece together the music the best I can.

So You Think You Can Dance Canada CTV Commercial

This commercial was for So You Think You Can Dance Canada and was choreographed by Blake McGrath (from the original So You Think You Can Dance). Interesting flair which is totally like Blake to do. He did something that looked very similar with Janet Jackson

SYTYCD: Sneak peak at some new dances for Season 5

Nigel Lythgoe, judge and executive-producer of So You Think You Can Dance, is currently in South Africa helping to launch a South African version of the show.

Nigel has been checking out some of the local dance styles and publicly stated that he wants to bring the Pantsula and Gumboot dancing to America.

SYTYCD Season 4 gave us Bollywood, will Season 5 bring us Pantsula and Gumboot dancing?

Heres a sneak peak:

So You Think You Can Dance Tour Pictures and Videos

Two weeks until the So You Think You Can Dance tour kicks into action starting in Tacoma, WA. A little bit surprising to me, you can still purchase your So You Think You Can Dance Tour Tickets online. That link has the list of So You Think You Can Dance Tour dates and locations. Also, you can go straight to ticketmaster or eBay to buy SYTYCD tour tickets.

More importantly, I want to make a call out to all the So You Think You Can Dance fans out there. As much as I’d like to be able to, I can’t travel to every city of the SYTYCD tour (wouldn’t that be fun?) Since I can’t be there, I’d love to get reports, pictures and videos from the various So You Think You Can Dance tour stops.

In return for the writeup, you’ll see your name in “lights” on this blog and become a rock star dance star. I’d also be happy to link to your own site if you’d like.

Leave a comment on this post or send me a note on our Contact Us page if you’re interested in helping out. The more people that participate the more everyone can enjoy the whole tour. Not to mention, this is a good way to learn how other people were able to meet their favorite dancers before and after the show.

Twitch and Kherington Payne’s Viennese Waltz – SYTYCD Flashback

I decided that during the off season of So You Think You Can Dance I’d do some flashbacks to some of my favorite dances throughout all the So You Think You Can Dance seasons.

The following is a video of Twitch and Kherington Payne’s Viennese Waltz. When I think about this season of So You Think You Can Dance, this has to be the most memorable dance of the whole season for me. Jean Marc Genereux did an amazing job with the wonderful song: A New Day Has Come by Celine Dion CĂ©line Dion - A New Day Has Come - A New Day Has Come

So You Think You Can Dance Scandinavia Top 24

While we wait for next summer (man that seems so far away), we’re going to have to settle for watching So You Think You Can Dance Canada and also So You Think You Can Dance Scandinavia (official site not in english).

I’m not too concerned considering that dance doesn’t require you to speak the same language. For example, here’s a video of the top 24 dancers on So You Think You Can Dance Scandinavia.

See what I mean? No words needed to enjoy the dancing. I’m planning on covering as much as I can of both the Canadian and Scandinavian versions of the show. I’d welcome any one from those countries (yes, I know that Scandinavia includes Denmark, Sweden and Norway) to join my blog and write about those shows. Even if you’re doing it in your own native tongue. Just drop me a note on the Contact Us page.
