SYTYCD Flashback: Benji and Heidi’s Black Mambo

I believe that this quite possibly could be the most popular and most technical dance ever performed on So You Think You Can Dance. Benji and Heidi are just so refined, so technical and so precise in this dance. It’s like they’ve been doing it since they were kids. Oh that’s right, they have been.

Enjoy the Black Mambo Angel & The Mambokats - Horizontal Mambo - Black Mambo sung by Angel and the Mambokats by Benji Schwimmer and Heidi Groskreutz

Disclaimer: I have a huge Heidi fan, so anything I say will certainly be biased when it comes to Heidi.

Take Another Look at Taeyeon ‘TK’ Kim

One of my favorite dancers from the SYTYCD Canadian auditions was Taeyeon ‘TK’ Kim. Unfortunantly, TK didn’t make the top 20 but you-tube has some great videos of him dancing.

Below is a performance of TK back in April of this year at Wilfred Laurier Highschool. He’s really good.

So You Think You Can Dance Canada Music

UPDATE: Canadians can use these links for all the So You Think You Can Dance Canada music season 2 and So You Think You Can Dance Canada music season 1.

Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to find a nice list of all the music from the So You Think You Can Dance Canada Audition shows. If someone is willing to put together a list of the songs for me after watching the SYTYCDC videos, then I’d love to post it. I’ll even add the links to get the music on iTunes to save everyone the hassle of searching for it.

I just don’t have the time right now (nor the musical skill) to go through the list of audition songs and list them here. I am planning on posting the songs one So You Think You Can Dance Canada reaches the top 20 (are they doing 20 in canada?). That is easier since SYTYCD is good at listing the music before the dance (usually).

Until then, I do know that the following songs were some of the most popular from the So You Think You Can Dance Canada audition music:

Breanne Wong danced to “The Story” by Brandi Carlile

‘Bounce’ by Manafest

In my search for So You Think You Can Dance Canada music, there was also an oft asked question about the song from the So You Think You Can Dance Canada commercial. Since it was such a common question, here’s the answer:
“Whine Up” by Kat DeLuna ft. Elephant Man
Kat DeLuna - Whine Up (feat. Elephant Man) - Single - Whine Up (feat. Elephant Man)

Watch for all the future music from So You Think You Can Dance Canada which I’ll post as soon as I find it.
