The Latest So You Think You Can Dance Tweets
This is my first edition of what I believe will be many posts talking about the various tweets being sent on Twitter by those related to or on So You Think You Can Dance. Twitter has really become a great way to be able to connect with So You Think You Can Dance. It’s how I got my interview with Bollywood choreographer Nakul and how I was able to connect with Nappytabs for a future interview (assuming things don’t fall apart). Anyway, you can check out our list of So You Think You Can Dance twitter accounts to stay up with your favorite people from SYTYCD. Otherwise, here’s our quick summary of some of the things happening on twitter related to SYTYCD:
Snap, Crackle, and Pop wrote a nice piece covering Lacey Schwimmer’s distaste for the current season of So You Think You Can Dance. Here are Lacey Schwimmer’s tweets about SYTYCD. Seems like she should have had a lesson in PR before sending these out, but I’ll let you be the judge. Here they are:
“Is at home watching a certain reality show….and is very disappointed :/”
“a certain reality show is starting to get on my nerves. no longer professionals….just generic…blah”
and
“uhhmm im sorry im beeing catty but im like gasping for air on how bad it is this season.”
About Max being cut she tweeted, “honestly hes no partner dancer….yuck”
“maybe you forget i went to top 4 on sytycd? and have more qualifing dance credits than many.”
“i never said i wasnt greatful….infact i love it for what it has done for me and my brother and friends.”
“all 3 people who are not liking my opinion… relax….i know what dancing is. and im allowed an opinion…sorry you feel the need to attack.”
I think that most people know that Nigel Lythgoe was having surgery this weekend. Nigel had to miss the SYTYCD season 6 auditions in New Orleans, but is suppose to be back for the show on Wednesday. Nigel tweeted the following after his surgery, “Post-op news. The surgery was a complete success. I now have permanent earplugs!!!! Only kidding, my disc op was evidently completed well!”
Nigel also sent the following tweet to Paula Abdul, “@PaulaAbdul a very very Happy Birthday. I do hope you’re coming to mine. Are you going to choreograph on SYTYCD this year?” Could be interesting and good for ratings to have Paula Abdul on So You Think You Can Dance. I’m not so excited to see her on the show, but it should be a bit of a ratings boost and great to get a big name on the show. Better than that lip syncer.
Adam Shankman sent out this tweet, “Me, @danabrunetti, and the real Deeley. She’s goin on Twitter soon, get ready! http://yfrog.com/0wvw4xj” Did he just say Cat Deeley would be on twitter soon? We’ll be watching for this. I can’t wait.
Lil’ C tweeted about the So You Think You Can Dance 6 auditions, “Jus saw some New Orleans Bounce!!!! It was Bucc!!!!” and “Found some diamonds in the rough yesterday, and hoping that we unearth more gems in todays auditions…operating on no sleep, bucc’n it out!” and “It’s been a very long audition day in New Orleans folks!!!!!! A very long day indeed, and I’ve only used the word “Bucc” 1x”
Let me know if you like this. Maybe we should turn it into a regular post. Good news is it looks like I’m going to be bringing on some help. Not enough of me to go around. Watch for that soon.
I like! Twitter really has exploded over the past year. I think making this a regular kind of posting would add a nice touch to the site and let followers feel up-to-date to the minute with all the SYTYCD judges so into tweeting.
I almost feel bad for Lacey that she cannot see how talented this cast of “non professionals” are this season. To me the whole point of this show is to showcase dancers with incredible talent who are just trying to make it. I for one am enjoying this season immensily.
I really enjoyed this blog post I would definitely make it a more regular thing!
Honestly, I’m annoyed at Lacey Schwimmer lambasting this season of SYTYCD and its Top 20. Seriously, sour grapes anyone? Sure she was one of the best during her season but if she auditioned THIS season, I doubt it if she would have made it into the Top 20.
Glad to hear you like this type of post. I’ll definitely do more in the future when there’s interesting things to post.
Angela,
I agree for the most part. Lacey Schwimmer was a good addition, but certainly the argument could be made that she made it in on the back of Benji. I’m surprised that’s her opinion. Not to mention that she would express it on Twitter.
I like that you are combining these tweets for us. I end up missing some (and prefer not to follow others umm…Lacey for one). So keep it coming!
And Lacey- isn’t this show about finding those “nonprofessionals” and helping them with their careers?!
wow I never cared for Lacey and didn’t think she deserved to be in the top 4. Now my dislike for her has grown. With that kind of negative spewing, her fanbase is going to rapidly decrease…
John, your thoughts on the show are great to read. Besides combining other tweets to a “convenient place to read”, your own comments and opinions are great to read too. Keep up the great writing. And Lacey… what a biotch!! Lost all my respect for her. Still love Benji though 🙂
Thanks guys. Glad you like it. I try to keep it interesting and/or useful.
No doubt Benji is great. I was lucky enough to be at the finale of Dancing with the Stars when Lacey made it to the top 3, but was beat by Derek Hough and Brooke Burke. Benji of course was in the audience to support his sister. After the show, there were all these stars and dwts professionals, but all I wanted to do was to go and meet Benji.
After some lame introduction, I told Benji “Sorry your sister didn’t win.” Benji quickly replied, “Why? She did great. She made the top 3.” Showed some real class and perspective. Benji definitely rules.
I love this tweet summary–for those of us who don’t have the time to cruise twitter and look for interesting tweets on SYTYCD, this is PERFECT. This is my one-stop SYTYCD shop, so please keep it up. 🙂
beth,
Luckily I’m bringing on some help to help me keep up as well. Just too much happening for one person. Plus, my wife and I are expecting our third child next month.
Today I’m going to post a list of fan comments about SYTYCD. Hopefully people like that as well.
I don’t use Twitter (no time!) so I do appreciate reading everything here. Thank you!
I wonder what, exactly, Lacey doesn’t like? What makes this season so different, in her opinion?
Do you think DWTS will bring on any more SYTYCD people in future seasons? Lacey and Chelsea Hightower are the only two so far, right? I thought that was pretty cool! Give those ladies another avenue for their dancing, help them make some money…all around a pretty neat deal! If they were going to continue that, though, you think they’d make the shows not conflict (but maybe that would take too much network cooperation!).
I’m just hoping that with growing popularity and a new season coming up so quickly, SYTYCD does not become cheesy/reality show/American Idol-type lame! I liked it when the judges’ comments really seemed to be focused on helping the contestants improve.
Gretchen,
I’m sure DWTS is open to bringing SYTYCD contestants on the show, but which one would they want to bring? Asuka and Max probably aren’t big enough names or trained enough.
Sure, the judges comments can get out of hand, but I watch for the dancing so it’s neither here nor there for me.
Dmitry’s also in DWTS right?
Angela,
Thanks for pointing that out. I forgot to say that. Dmitry Chaplin was definitely on DWTS last season along with Lacey and Chelsie.
