Nigel Stop Messing with My Blondes
Many of you don’t probably realize that I first started blogging about SYTYCD in the second season. That makes this my fifth season writing about (and obsessing to at least some extent) SYTYCD. Plus you probably also don’t realize that I started blogging about SYTYCD by accident.
Well it’s true. My very first post about SYTYCD was on my blog called Smuggle Me (which I still blog on today). As you can tell from the name of the blog my intent wasn’t to write about SYTYCD. I was really just trying to learn what it meant to blog. However, I was entranced by a blonde girl named Heidi who gave everything she had in every dance on SYTYCD. Yes, Heidi was my first motivation to post about SYTYCD.
Well, let’s just say that I think that was the beginning of a very good thing. Heidi was my first and likely my all time favorite contestant on SYTYCD. Then, in season 4 my favorite just happened to be the amazing Kherington Payne. She was nothing but extraordinary in my book. Season 5 favorites of mine include Kayla and Caitlin (not in that order). Yes, and in season 6 Channing was my favorite dancer. In case you haven’t noticed, it seems like I have a thing for blonde dancers.
On Twitter, I was called out for just liking the blonde hair. My only argument against that is that I don’t like all blonde girls. Just those that are attractive blonde girls that can dance unbelievably well.
Does that make me bias? Absolutely. Is that a problem? I don’t think so. Everyone has their own biases. This is mine.
With that said, let me say something very unbiased. Nigel, stop messing with my blondes. Channing should have stayed much longer. Readers of this site will suffer thanks to you sending my motivation home so early;-)
Okay why do you only call out Nigel there are two other judges that are responsible for making these cuts. Also America put her there in danger, so kinda unfair to call out only one person. Yeah and I’ll admit it I was the one that called you out on the blonde thing. Haha…thanks for clarifing the real reason for liking her. Though I am curious have you ever had a favorite(or second favorite) that wasn’t blonde or for that matter wasn’t a girl?
Amanda,
Nigel’s the boss and the one that announced it. So, he’s responsible. Plus, Mary’s just a pawn and Adam’s trying to keep a job;-)
I can’t argue with America, because they’ve made a lot of mistakes in the past. Maybe my next post will be to call out America too…lol
Good question on second favorites. Season 3 there weren’t really any blondes, so I had a different favorite. I really liked Lauren and Lacey that season. However, Dominc and Hok were definitely my favorites that season.
I also really liked Benji. This season Ryan is great too. So, yes I like them. In fact, I enjoy a lot of different people. Just blondes are usually my favorites;-)
John you crack me up. My hubby pretty much stopped dead in his tracks when Channing danced the samba a couple weeks ago. And he liked Mollee black pants in her solo. If not for the cute blondes I wouldn’t be able to get him to even sit through 20 minutes with me!
Good Rachel. Mission accomplished.
Glad to hear about your hubby. That’s who I’m fighting for. All of those husbands out there that enjoy the beautiful dancer that is Channing. Wife’s should be grateful for my above post since I’m helping get their husbands more involved in the beauty that is dance.
lol
John, you’re hysterical. And you need to get over the blondes. I think the only one I’m completely 100% in agreement with is Kherington. She was just phenomenal. I loved Caitlin and Channing and Kayla’s good (didn’t watch till season), but the feisty brunettes are where it’s at. Lauren and Lacey and Sabra and Katee and Courtney and Jeanine! :)-
Emilie,
Yeah, I’m pretty sure that’s likely to happen….NEVER!
It’s interesting that you didn’t mention Heidi. Was she before you started watching? She was phenomenal as well.
I will agree with you that Courtney and Jeanine were just beautiful to watch dance. Katee had a little something special in her eye. Allison Holker also was a phenomenal dancer.
[…] of the readers of Pure SYTYCD are familiar with my personal bias towards blonde female dancers on SYTYCD. Try to tell me that Kayla Radomski, Channing Cooke, Kherington Payne, and Heidi Groskreutz […]
