SYTYCD Behind the Scenes
Ever wonder what goes on behind the scenes at SYTYCD, I know I do. Recently I came across a new Kathryn McCormick article. As many of you know that All Star Kathryn McCormick is from my home town of Augusta, GA and recently a local magazine published an article about her. It was a great article, it tells you more about her back ground and some info on what goes on behind the scenes at So You Think You Can Dance. So if you have time to read it please do. Here is website address to the magazine click on current issue and go to page 34-39.
I LOVED this article, all the behind the scenes info. is great. Their contracts forbade the dancers from driving, and on Saturdays they had to pay out of their own pockets for the rehearsal studio time and taxis because Fox wouldn’t cover the studio rental cost on their “free” day? That’s really bush league treatment by the show and Fox. (Although, I believe/assume that at some point the dancers do get a salary and/or per diem, so at least they would be getting that money to cover their costs.)
Also, the part about getting IV’s and Vitamin B injections backstage during the performance shows is fascinating — wow.
Thanks for the article! I can’t get enough of SYTYCD and would love to hear even more about what goes on behind the scenes!
I agree Tom they have to get some sort of income while they are on the show. The IVs and Vitamin B shots show that they care about the dancers. Im glad you enjoyed the article.
Did anybody else notice the little bit at the end with the 4-year contract thing? I wonder what that means.
Wow Amanda… I really like this article… and I remember way back when the criticisms of pushing dancers too hard, at least they help them along on top of that! 🙂 But man, that’s one heck of an audition process to go through.
