It’s that I don’t want the audience to show enthusiasm, it’s that they spent the first 25 seconds of Neil and Lauren’s performance intermittently screaming and being silent, which was super distracting. Let the people at home enjoy the dancing as much as you are!
After reading that Jose wasn’t in the last TWO group dances, I went back to check. They tried to trick us by dressing him up as the other dancers and having him push the couch out with Cat on it last week. That made me think he had actually danced when he had not. In the 2 group dances before that, Jose is put in the back corner of the stage with none of the difficult moves that some of the other dancers had to do. How very unfair to the others that Jose is getting by learning one less choreography a week than they are. Kick him off!
I don’t know why my post didn’t show up in the comments, but I included a link to idolforums (also posted on the sytycd forums) where it’s been said that Billy got cleared to perform 3 hours before showtime and wasn’t asked to perform a solo last night. I don’t agree with all the Billy hate but the way the information about his injury was handled has clearly damaged poeple’s opinions about Billy. It’s a sad situation really, because he is a talented dancer.
Did anyone catch Shankman’s last tweet? They have now mentioned “voting America’s favorite dancers IN” at least twice now. Are they saying that Robert, Jose, and Billy are automatically in the bottom 3 next week?
Billy seemed a little discouraged last night. Has he mentally checked out on the competition?
Lastly, we should tweet Nigel and ask him why Jose is absentee from the group numbers. There must be a logical explanation, right? Right??
I actually tweeted that very question to Nigel this morning with no response, not that I was expecting one. This is what I tweeted him “@dizzyfeet Just curious as to why Jose was not in the opening dance performance last night? Are not all competitors required to perform?” This was one of his general tweets “I HATE ‘haters.’ I LOVE irony.” ????????? Not sure if that answers our question or not but take what you want from it.
Nigel and Adam have both mentioned on twitter that the top 3 is pretty much set and when asked “why even dance, then”, Nigel said–because we get to see more dance, duh! (or something like that, lol)
So I’d say that Chike, Kent and Lauren are automatically in the finale, barring any craziness. The fourth spot will come down to the judges and what they decide this coming week. I’m guessing that it’ll be Jose and Billy that go, but it could be Jose and Robert.
Those are my guesses.
I was really irritated about this at first, but then I thought, oh well…more dancing for us and not much of the outcome will really change.
I think one reason Nigel might be able to say that is that he sees the vote totals. There’s probably a really strong demarcation between the top three and bottom three, and potentially it’s been pretty stable for the last few weeks. If so, it’s not likely that anything will drastically change this week and we’ll get the same bottom 3. I mean, Jose and Robert and Billy have all been in the bottom quite a bit and the other three have never been in trouble before.
I just wish Nigel was more gracious when he speaks. He acts as if the fans are a nuisance because we have opinions. Clearly we care about the show or we wouldn’t be asking questions or stating our opinions.
and random question, that may have been asked already, where are all the standard ballroom pieces? there hasn’t been one this season, unless you count the quickstep.
@Kenna, I agree about Nigel. He’s probably spending too much time at Twitter and it’s making him extra bitchy. I love Twitter, but I’m sure a fair amount of the people commenting there are… twits, lol, being less than constructive. He should check this site out more 🙂
Hmm. Yeah, there’s been tons of Latin ballroom. We have had the quickstep and a jive. But I’d love to see a nice Viennese Waltz.

Something to think about, I suppose.
