Top 22 Results Show SYTYCD Canada
I realize last night in my Power Rankings I didn’t predict who would go home… I will try to do that for next week in addition to the actual rankings.
Here is a Summary of Tonight’s Results Show:
Opening Number:
Zombie – “Fela” Original Broadway Cast
Bill T Jones choreographed
First 3 Couples out:
Janick & Shavar
Nathalie & Mackenzie
Kirsten & Jera
All 3 are safe.
Next 2 couples out:
Hanni ( & TJ ) – Dancing for his life
Charlene & Jeff – SAFE
Personally this shocked me, since I rated Hanni & TJ’s dance as my favourite of the night.
The rest of the couples came out:
Amanda & Denys – SAFE
Danielle & Sebastian – SAFE
Bree & Edgar – Dancing for their lives
Claudia & Yonni – SAFE
Julia & Jesse – Dancing for their lives
Jonathan & Kloe – SAFE
Solo’s – Dancing for their life:
Males:
Hanni – Strange padding outfit but strong solo.
Edgar – Smooth moves, nice swag but not too many tricks or fancy moves.
Jesse – The best solo of the three in my opinion. Sharp moves, seemed very precise and passionate.
Females:
Bree – She seemed frantic at times but overall beautiful mocement.
Julia – I really loved her solo, it was an unusal song choice (country) for ball room but she worked it with lot’s of kicks and spins. It was my favourite of the two solo’s.
Of course, there was no third female solo because Shelaina was out injured.
Sent home:
-Hanni – not unanimous
-Shelaina – injury related.
Thoughts:
Doctors decided she can not dance due to her injury, therefore she was sent home. Seems the SYTYCD USA Injury Curse has struck Canada too, I hope it ends here. I also hope Shelaina returns… after last year’s attitude I was glad she smartened up this season and am truly sad she has to leave on these terms.
I am sad that my #1 power ranking went home… Hanni. I honestly feel like part of this early voting and decision making is related to screen time and how well viewers get to know the dancers before the performances.
And now we are down to Top 20…
Hopefully my Power Ranking Predictions improve…. or some of you can help me out in the comments section next time?
Wow. I did NOT agree with ANY the results. None of the bottom 6 dancers should’ve been in the bottom. If I were to put 3 couples in the bottom they would’ve been: Charlene & Jeff (how did Canada miss their absolutely boring performance which lacked any energy?!), Danielle & Seb (I expected much more for the show’s first Bollywood number – and again – lack of energy), Kloe & Jonathan (so boring). TBH the first 3 routines of the night weren’t very good either.
What? I have not seen the elimination episode yet, but this makes no sense! Those were 3 of my favorites! The only explanation I have for this is that maybe viewers thought that these dancers “Had it in the bag” and voted to save the ones who didn’t do so well.
And the injury thing… It’s getting ridiculous! I know it’s nobody’s fault but it just keeps happening!
Hanni was one of the only male dancers that I really liked. I remember last year, the judges didn’t even get a say in who went home. The producers sent home the two strongest dancers in the bottom to send a message to Canada, and probably to stir up drama. I wouldn’t be surprised if the bottom 3 weren’t even the bottom 3. Forgive me if I’m just sounding ignorant or stupid.
Is there any way to watch the Canada season here in the US?
Straaaange that Hanni got cut!!
Not surprised about Julia/Jesse in the bottom, not because they weren’t great but because of the horrible choreography! These were the only two I got right in my predictions…
@Tara: It is possible in Sweden 😉 Search for it on facebook and you’ll find… (sytycd was the only reason for me to create an account, lol.)
On a sidenote: I love this site! I’ll try to comment a bit more, I haven’t done it so much in the past, and it’s a great way to practice my English! ;P
Nope, nope, nope. Not in agreement with the bottom 3 and certainly not happy with the guy they sent home. The only couple I could see in the bottom three was Julia and Jesse in the “new disco” (blame falls to the choreographer here–apart from that, love Julia).
They couldn’t send Edgar home–there’s not enough of his genre in there (and besides, on a selfish level, I want to see how that partnership evolves). I’m surprised Bree & Edgar’s hip-hop ended up in danger rather than Jonathan and Chloe’s.
I wonder if they went after Hani because he’s borderline quirpy and they want to let Sebastian fill the quirpy-contemporary niche. I love that Sebastian is mini-Mark, but I liked Hani’s performance better.
