Los Angeles Audition Music – SYTYCD Season 8
So far, the music of Season 8 has been stellar, so I’m excited to see what music tonight’s Los Angeles audition show brings us. I hope you’ll help me hunt down all of tonight’s music because I always rely on our awesome readers for the assist.

I was so bad about the music tonight, y’all, cause I was distracted by tweeting my reactions. Help me out? 🙂
The song played in line on day one was Higher by Taio Cruz.
The day 2 “no” dancers was Cold as Ice by Foreigner.
I Must find the song Arielle danced to it was so awesome!!
Pretty sure “Big C” Santa Clause dude brought back the RUSKO remix of Pro Nails.
Wish I knew what Arielle danced to, because I liked it, but it wasn’t Pro Nails.
Hero’s audition was something to behold, too, as was the music for her routine.
Gotta have the song Arielle danced to… Anyone??
Does anyone know Hero’s audition song yet?
Hero did so awesome Dubstep is taking over tonights’ show lol
What was the music the sisters, natalia and sasha, danced to? Anyone know?
@Michelle: Thanks!
@Johnny B: How do I *always* think Pro Nails is Santogold? It’s like I have a block against that song or something. Thanks. 🙂
@Jessica, Melissa, Shaun, and Janis: I haven’t found them yet, but keep checking back. One of our wonderful readers could have the answer.
@Jessica: You’re so right. 🙂
I Cannot find the montage song but i know the lyrics had “la la la” in them can someone help me out?
P.S.
Thanks for taking the time to put these lists together! I will certainly continue to keep an eye on your site!
No worries on that one. I only knew it after going through my music list from last year and re-listening to some of them, because I recognized it. I’m sure to remember it right off the bat in the future! 🙂
As a small nit-pick, could you at least add a spot for Hero McRae, in case someone comes up with the tune she used? I have Venetian Snares stuck in my head right now, so I can’t even say for sure what style her song was; wish I had DVR’ed it…
The song Sasha & Natalia Mallory danced to is “We Ride on the Wind” sung by Darnel Alexander (he also sang “Brother, Brother” from the Deon & Damon dance from last week) Songs to be released on itunes soon!!
@Melissa: I’m glad you like the site and the music lists! We do it for you.
@Johnny B: That was an oversight. She’s up on the list.
@Brenna: Thanks! Good to know. We’ll post links as soon as they’re available.
the other two dubstep songs remind me of Mimosa or Kraddy, but not sure
What was the song played at minute 32. It played for a scond before Santa danced?
I want the song that the japanese girl danced to!
The song that Alexis danced to is ‘Variations on a theme from Pachelbel’s Canon in D Major’ By David Lanz
The song arielle danced to is “Groundhog Day” by Frisson.
Here’s the link to it
http://soundcloud.com/frissonofficial/groundhog_day
One of the montages toward the end was the new Panic at the disco song “ready to go” . I think it was the yes to Vegas montage before Sasha and Natalia, but I’d have to go back and check.
I think the Ke$ha song is the Blow (Cirkut Remix) , im pretty sure 🙂
The official site has actually been listing all the songs they use on the episodes: http://www.fox.com/dance/recaps/season-8/episode-3
Though I do find it more fun figuring it out for myself, but some of them are so obscure!
Link doesnt work for me. Can someone please post what that link has for Hero’s audition song?
@Sally: Looks like it was Run-DMC’s “Christmas in Hollis” – Run-DMC’s “Christmas in Hollis” –
@bymyself11: It’s “Critical Dubstep/So You Think You Can Dance Dubstep” by Dinglesalad, but not yet available on iTunes. Check back!
@Ryan & Stephanie: Thanks!
@Sara: You’re right!
@Fergie: I’m not 100% that it was that remix, but I linked to it in your comment cause I think you may be right.
@Miken: I, too, enjoy the hunt. I do reference the official list after the fact. BUT, there is a delay between the episode and when the list goes up and I think a lot of people (myself included) are dying to know, so that’s why I like this community we’ve got going on. ALSO, the official list is not complete, fyi. They don’t include some songs, like the Tchaikovsky tunes that have aired, probably because they might be in the public domain. And one thing we try to do that the official list doesn’t is link together the songs that played with the performers. Plus, we’re just having too much fun. :)-
@Shaun: Hero’s song is not yet on iTunes, but it should be soon. Check back!
Emilie,
@sxymamaceta said on Twitter that the intro music for Natalia and Sasha was “Peer Gynt”
Seems like there are a lot of versions of “Peer Gynt” though. Not sure which one it was.
Hi All,
Brenna is correct!

@Jake: Thanks for that info! Darnel’s “We Ride on the Wind” is available now. I’ve got it linked so everybody can scoop it up.
The classical piece during the sisters’ introduction is In the Hall of the Mountain King by Edvard Grieg.
I’m pretty sure Hiro McRae won season 4 of America’s Best Dance Crew with her crew We Are Heroes. I recognized her. 🙂
Hmm, pretty sure that classical song during the intro for the African/contemporary sister dancers was not Tchaikovsky but rather “In The Hall of the Mountain King” by Edvard Grieg.
Yay! I just downloaded both of Darnel Alexander’s songs “Brother Brother” and “We Ride on the Wind” Album name – Levels Music Group. SO awesome!! 🙂
@Jake – do you know when the MP3’s for Darnel Alexander’s songs “Brother Brother” and “We Ride on the Wind” will be available on Fox’s official webpage?
