Top 6 Power Rankings
The closer we get to the finale of the show the harder it is for me to want to do a power rankings post, but I’ll do my best. Loved the opening dance by Mia Michaels. Many of you may have noticed Aaron was missing from that dance. It wasn’t addressed on the show since he was able to dance his duet. This is when social networking comes in handy. Thanks to twitter Aaron sent out a message saying he has a shoulder injury and in best interest of his shoulder and the show, he was pulled from the opening number. That’s all I know right now…if I find out more I will update.
The bottom four ended up being Jenna, Hayley, Tucker and FikShun. Tough call to make and I can say I 100% agree with the end results but it’s what has to happen. Jenna and Tucker were the two we had to say goodbye to. Both had fantastic dances last night. I really did enjoy watching Tucker and Courtney dance together. Wasn’t the best of the night but landed in the middle of the mix for me. Jenna and Mark on the other hand I could go on for days about their dance. It was my favorite piece of choreography of the night.
Girls
Amy: I think most will agree this was the other favorite dance of the night. Travis was able to show us all of Amy’s talents as a dancer. It reminded me why she has always been one of the early favorites.
Hayley: There is just something about the Rumba I just love. It’s really hard for me to find anything wrong about this dance.
Jasmine: I was excited to see that she was paired with Twitch. Granted I would have wanted a more down and dirty hip hop but I enjoyed the superhero theme too. Superheroes and Twitch go hand in hand together. Jasmine held her own dancing with Twitch but this was a case of the other numbers just were a little bit better.
Guys (very hard to rank these since all made me feel the same)
FikShun: Allison did a fantastic job working in his strenths through her choreography. He really has grown so much over the competition.
Paul: This was just a fun hip hop. Paul has consistently been good and the ladies love him.
Aaron: Dispite his injured shoulder he made that jive look easy. I had to go back to see what Mary was talking about, and still trying to figure out what caused it. Still thought he was great.
So who is your top 4? Mine is Amy, Jasmine, Aaron and Paul.
Your top four is my top four. At least that’s how I hope the votes will go. And whoever wins from there, I’ll be happy.
I suspect your top 4 is what will happen, but I’ll take FikShun and Haley of Aaron and Jasmine.
Particularly Fikshun over Aaron. I thought that Aaron barely did any actual dancing in his contemporary with Katherine last week (compared to what Fikshun was able to do), and I didn’t like this week’s Jive. Add to that the fact that he wasn’t even able to do the group number. I don’t dislike Aaron, but I’d rather see Fikshun stick around.
@Kevin I believe he would’ve danced in the opening number if he had a choice but they pulled him out so not to damage his shoulder even more.
My top 4 is yours as well! If those top 4 make it, it won’t matter to me who would win at that point.
I think your top 4 is good because those 4 have been the best over the course of the competition and deserve to be there. However, if we base it solely on last night’s performance than Jasmine and Aaron deserve to go home.
Aaron’s jive was a bit off and it is the first time in the competition, I have actually seen him make a mistake but one mistake cannot undo a brilliant run in this competition.
I didn’t care too much for Jasmine’s routine. I think Twitch played it a bit too safe with the choreography even though I loved the superhero theme. A good routine but not in the same level as the others just like Hayley’s was last week. Hayley ended up bottom 4 after last week so I wouldn’t be too surprised if Jasmine does the same. She is however by far the best female dancer left in the competition when it comes to performances (Amy is best technically).
I would like to see Hayley do something that demands a non-sexy character. She’s been the sexy dancer ever since auditions, and all the dances she’s been given, she’s played it sexy (as has been required), so does it wonderfully, but before she can win me over enough to justify a place in the finale, I want to see her ability to pull off something quirky. Could she have pulled off Mark’s routine? The hotel routine? The saloon routine? I have no clue.
I have a question why you guys not coming to St. Louis this year? I have gone to every show each year you came to St. Louis, I’ve also notice that no where in the mid-west the show is appearing why?
Dorris we are just a fan based blog…so we have no control over where the tour goes. Try asking on the official website on fox.com
I love Aaron and Jasmine! Mark Kanemura and Travis Wall should DANCE on the show EVERY week!!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE both of them!
I’d go with your final 4. Sort of leaning towards Aaron’s injury was clearly evident. I can’t figure out why Tucker got to do his solo. And then didn’t compete the week of his knee. And there was no reference on the show about Aaron’s injury. Had he been 100% he would have killed it. I actually found his Jive easier to watch. Than Hayley’s dance routine. Paul may be doing well. But, I keep struggling with noticing him as a ball-room dancer in his routines. Jasmine I noticed still is a contemporary dancer, and Fik-shun hip hop. Hayley, Amy, and Aaron you can’t tell what genre of dance they are from.
I started watching SYTYCD because of Mia and Mary. I think it was Mary’s reaction to Lacy and Neal’s that got me interested. Without Mia, losing dancers I fear, is a dread I don’t want to have when I watch the show. I grew to love the show because I cared about the dancers. It was interesting to see them grow. It showcased such a magnetic vibe and struck a dynamic and emotional chord with me to see such wonderful energies and inspiration on the screen. Unlike anything I’ve ever seen on TV. It was the message that the show portrays that inspired me and made me watch the show. About the choreographers, their responsibility just astounds me. The idea is personified in Travis and all of the dancers that have gone on to inspire. I guess I’m saying that the more meaningful #s make the letting go of the dancers more bearable because of the impact and legacy they leave behind.
Jasmine’s solo was so perfect, I just couldn’t believe it. When I saw her, i wanted her to win no doubt. I honestly just couldn’t believe at that moment anyone could possibly win over her. Just unbelievable. Her personality exudes love and sweetness through her movement. So graceful and dedicated.
Amy is so amazing because she breaths this. She can’t get enough of performing and we can’t wait to connect with her. Her personality, like Jasmines just oozes out and the strength of what is shown is a clear highlight of greatness.
Aaron is a cool, collected, people-loving performer. It is endearing to watch him and his strength shows through because of his commitment and dedication to himself and his own growth.
Fikshun is just cool to watch. Also, when I saw him I couldn’t believe anyone could ever beat him. In that moment, just captivating. Would love to watch him all day! Could not think any guy could beat him!
That is why it is so hard to choose between these dancers. ALL of them were so beautiful in their own way. It was hard to watch them leave!!! I did not like that part. It’s almost as if this show kicking people off doesn’t make sense anymore 🙁 Where’s Mia?????
I second the Travis and Marc to be on the show always. Can we also have an all Allstar show??? OMG Can I just say that Katherine is so crazy gorgeous it’s unbelievable?! Can she be in every #?? I absolutely loved the allstars when they came on. My favorite show of the season.
My favorite season was 4 and 2!
I agree with Ansh’s last comment! Everything
