SYTYCD Top 20 Show Trivia
Below is some trivia breakdown of various dancers from all the seasons that have made it onto the show:
SYTYCD Summer 2005: Season One:
This season started out differently than most of the other seasons. Those that auditioned with their solos at the various cities throughout the country were either kept around for choreography or were asked to go home. Then those that went through to the choreography round were filtered to what was known as Hollywood Week at the time (now Las Vegas Callbacks). So in essence everyone that made it to the Top 16 during Season One were forced to go through the choreography round during the individual city auditions.
From Season Two onwards the individual city auditions changed where those dancers that really wowed the judges were sent straight to the Las Vegas Callbacks while some were sent home. Others that the judges were unsure about were sent to the choreography round.
To help you understand the below table better:
Previous Seasons: Any other seasons that a dancer has auditioned in previously
Choreography Round: In the individual audition cities if the judges like a dancer but aren’t completely convinced the dancer is asked to stick around to pick up choreography
– Yes: Dancer was asked to participate in choreography
– No: Dancer went straight through to Vegas
– Blank: Unknown if they went straight through to Vegas or not, eventually they ended up in Vegas
Vegas Dance for Your Life: During Vegas Callbacks judges would ask a dancer to “dance for their life” if the judges really would want to keep the dancer but isn’t impressed with the dancer’s progression thus far
– Yes: Dancer had to dance a solo to prove why they should stay in the competition
– Blank: Unknown if they were ever asked to dance
