SYTYCD on Glee’s Bad Reputation

Thanks to commenter Ben for pointing out SYTYCD alum on two musical numbers from Glee’s recent episode, “Bad Reputation.”

Here’s his comment:

I found one for Total Eclipse of the Heart, which features Melissa (quite obviously) and possibly Brandon.

http://popwatch.ew.com/2010/05/05/glee-total-eclipse-of-the-heart/

And here’s a link with a video for “Let’s Get Physical” which features Brandon and what’s-his-name. You’ll be able to pick him out.

http://www.chicagonow.com/blogs/deep-dish/2010/05/of-glee-i-sing-lets-get-physical.html

In the “Total Eclipse of the Heart” routine, we get glimpses of Brandon and Melissa throughout, but Melissa is really prominent at 42:05 on the right of Jesse. She’s got her “Naughty Ballerina” face on, her expression saying something along the lines of, “Naught Ballerina’s gonna steal your man.”

“Let’s Get Physical” is basically an homage to Brandon’s butt, at least once you stop looking at Olivia Newton-John and Sue Sylvester. The first time his face is really prominent is 26:37 and then again at 26:50. His butt’s super prominent at the end. 🙂

As for Ben’s “what’s-his-name” in the “Let’s Get Physical” segment, I’m not sure who he’s talking about. I thought Ryan Di Lello would have the physique for it, but I didn’t see him. Maybe Nathan with a shaved head? What do y’all think? [UPDATE: Thanks to commenter Julia (and SYTYCDism) for pointing out that it’s Jonathan Platero!]

Nathan Trasoras on Glee in Vogue Video

In case you missed it, Nathan Trasoras made a nice little appearance in the “Vogue” music video they did on Glee with Sue Sylvester. Nathan does have some really good poses, so it seems fitting that he was in this video.

I also heard that Janette Manrara and her b/f Jason Glover were on Glee in the “Highway to Hell” part of Glee, but I haven’t found a video of that yet. Although, Jason and Janette both said that it was cut in half and they weren’t on the video very much. If you know where I can find the video, let me know and I’ll update this post with the video.

SYTYCD Alum in Black Eyed Peas Video

PureSYTYCD commenter Ben (thanks, dude!) spotted a distinctive SYTYCD alumni and wrote us:

At least ONE SYTYCD dancer in the new video for The Black Eyed Peas’ Double A-Side release, “Imma Be”/”Rock That Body”. Nathan sighting in the second half, wearing one of his hats.

Ben, you’re right! Nathan is clearly visible at 6:26 and at several parts after that. I thought I saw Russell a few times (what do y’all think?). Can anybody identify any of the other dancers, especially the girls? This is a great remix video, very fun and it was cool to see Nathan and other (?) SYTYCD alumni strutting their stuff.

I wonder if the Black Eyed Peas were into using SYTYCD alumni after meeting some of the dancers when they performed on the show.

Thanks again for writing us, Ben. Here’s the video, y’all:

The Voted Off Dancers on The Ellen Show

Here are the other dancers performing on The Ellen Show after they got voted off. Enjoy!

Nathan and Noelle

Victor and Karen (sorry this is a little long…the dancing starts at 6:35)

Channing and Kevin (again long…dancing starts at 7:05 but what’s wrong with these photos are hilarious!)

Pauline and Peter

Philip and Bianca/Brandon and Ariana

I couldn’t seem to find these videos online. I don’t remember seeing Brandon and Ariana perform on The Ellen Show but I could’ve sworn that Philip and Bianca did. If you know where to find one of these videos please let me know in the comments section.

Saying Goodbye to Nathan and Noelle

here’s the exit interview from Nathan and Noelle, thanks to the folks at Zap2it.com. Both of them seem super upbeat and grateful for the opportunities they got on the show.

additionally, Entertainment Weekly has begun doing exit interviews with the cast, here are the links:

Noelle Marsh

Nathan Trasoras

interesting note, the interviewer ask Noelle about the tour, and she’s really excited and hoping to perform her Afro-Jazz piece (I’d guess it’s a sure thing for the tour) but she (Kate Ward from EW) doesn’t ask Nathan about the tour, and Nathan comes off during the whole interview ask just sounding exhausted, and I can’t say I blame him after the beating that he took from the judges this season. What do you guys think?

SYTYCD Top 10 Results Thoughts

Well…no Season 5 Top 10. Sorry for that one, y’all. My bad. Must be next week. I’m a bit bummed after tonight’s show. Not just the results, but also finding out there are only two more weeks of Season 6. The finale is going to be between 6 dancers, which seems a bit…much… The results are going to be very strange, I think, because we won’t have gotten to see them dance as many routines over an extended amount of time like in previous seasons. And how long is this finale going to be? Cause if it’s only 2 hours with 6 final dancers… that seems really unfair and like a total gip, really.

As for the rest of my thoughts…

SYTYCD Top 10 Power Rankings

To me, it seems pretty clear who should go this week. Except…because it seems “easy” this week, I wonder if America will feel differently or be polarized. Vote to keep your favorites in! No more Kherringtons! I was thinking we’d probably have a male winner this year (we’ve been alternating the last few…) because the guys seemed way stronger at first, what with Jakob and Russell in particular. But these girls are amazing!

So, let your vote be known and let’s see how good we are at predicting who will be sent home on tomorrow’s SYTYCD elimination show.
