I saw an article from The Examiner today about Cat Deely’s appearance on Letterman last night and her mom’s less-than-enthusiastic response to her growing presence as a tv presenter/host.
Here’s the full clip of Cat’s appearance on Letterman where she talks about modeling in Japan, covering the royal wedding, and doing the “baby lift” from Dirty Dancing after lots of Patrick Swayze practice. Is that Ade lifting her? What do y’all think?
I was really sad to learn just a few minutes ago that Patrick Swayze succombed today to pancreatic cancer, which he’s been battling for 20 months. He first captured my heart when I snuck into the hallway to watch Dirty Dancing, when I was “too young” to watch it, according to my parents. He’s one of the reasons why I love dance as much as I do.
Wanted to see some Swayze myself, so I found this 1994 video of Swayze dancing with his wife Lisa Niemi. They made a movie together in 2003 called One Last Dance.

One of my friends just Tweeted, “RIP Patrick Swayze…Heaven just got one hell of a bouncer.” I’m going to amend that to, “Heaven just got one hell of a dancer.”
