SYTYCD Canada Cancelled

After one of the most fantastic seasons yet, the Canadian version of SYTYCD has been cancelled by CTV.

Hours after crowning Jordan Clark the Season 4 winner, the announcement was made official, this would be the last season of SYTYCD Canada.

“I can confirm that we are not ordering a fifth season of the series,” Scott Henderson, vice-president of communications for Bell Media told CityNews.ca.

“After four seasons and 92 episodes, CTV has decided to pursue other program strategies. This decision was made after careful consideration, including viewership and economic factors. We remain extremely proud of the legacy of So You Think You Can Dance Canada, including raising the profile of dance in this country,”

Fans are outraged, and they are not alone. Judges, choreographers and dancers alike are all in shocked and disappointed at this news.

Jean-Marc Genereux tweeted:

Dear Fans @SYTYCDCanada.no regrets! you were the best fans in the WORLD..SHOW is gone! But NOT your passion for DANCE,it’s a CTV decision!
You will hear all kinds of reasons!!! But you know what!!! Canada loved his DANCE SHOW and I’m sure the fans will react!!!

@TreArmstrong tweeted:

“Wow…honestly can’t believe #SYTYCDCanada has been cancelled,” Armstrong said Tuesday. “So disappointing for Canada & our amazing talent. Best season EVER! Love You.”
“Hope that #SYTYCDCanada comes back to live once more…thank you for 4 great seasons,” Armstrong wrote Tuesday. “The network, production, crew & talent, love u all.”

Luther Brown tweeted:

Its sad that the show has ended but God is good and we were all blessed to be apart of Canada’s best show! We went out with a bang!!!

Stacey Tookey tweeted:

I’m so sad to hear about the cancellation of SYTYCDC but I am so proud to know a group of people with that much talent & heart!! Love u all!

For me this is sad news. Granted I still watch SYTYCD USA, but there was something special about our Canadian SYTYCD and I am sad to see that go.

A part of me hopes that it will somehow survive, but only time will tell. There are a number of petitions and complaints going on to try and save the show. In the past, I know when a company cancels something, it is usually a done deal, but you never know!

How do you feel about this news?

Announcing the Winner:

Leah reminds us of prizes:
$5000 for 4 runner’s up
$10000 and a car for 1st runner up
$100000 and a car for winner.

Canada voted 1.6 million times

Christian, Lindsey, Shane are not in the top 2.

Matt is not in Top 2.

Melissa and Jordan remain… we are not surprised are we?

They both won cars… but there can only be one winner and it is…. Jordan Clark!

All of them are really winners… not just the money or cars, but the exposure they have had and the talent they have shown – I expect big things from all of them in the future 🙂

Overall Thoughts:

I am so thrilled Jordan won. I was rooting for her since auditions and think she is amazing.

I thought for a while Melissa may beat her because she showed such diversity and skill.

I also thought Matt somehow may pull (what I would consider) an upset and take it, though I felt Christian was a better dancer and Shane the best male dancer.

I didn’t think a male would win it though, the women were fierce.

Lindsey grew the most for me and I was so impressed with how much she improved and brought to the stage this season!

Congrats to Jordan, I am so proud and thrilled to see that my favourite from day one took it home!

Thoughts on the winner? The finale? The season?

SYTYCD Canada Top 12 Tonight

Tonight we see Canada’s Season 4 Top 12 dancers perform.

With such an amazing week of SYTYCD USA finale’s I am still giddy about Melanie’s win! Some amazing routines from her and others, as you can see by scrolling down at some of the posts this week including bloggers favourite routines of the season.

While Season 8 USA has ended, Season 4 Canada is only half way through…

I apologize for not posting results from last week, but I was camping and away all week.

In a nutshell the Top 14 danced to “Rumour Has It” by Adele in a Melissa Williams choreographed Jazz number. Not only were there amazing dancers, but also lights and visuals. One camera angle looked down at dancers as they rolled and moved on the stage and the floor lit up with the word “Love” and hearts and so on. I will post a youtube video for you if I can find it.

Solo’s from the bottom three dancers included: Yulia, Carlena and Geisha for the ladies and JP, Shane and Joey for the guys.

In the end it was Carlena & JP that went home.

Tonight we are ready for the Top 12 and I am hoping for a little more fire. Last week was probably my least favourite episode this season. The dancers and routines were not up to the level we usually see and I was quite disappointed.

Tune in tonight if you have CTV or check back this evening for my summary and Power Rankings.

Top 14 Performance Show Post Here

SYTYCD Canada Top 14 Performance Show

Tonight was another great night of dancing on So You Think You Can Dance Canada. The Top 14 danced for Canada’s votes and tomorrow we will send two more home.

Tonight’s judges were Jean-Marc Genereux, Tré Armstrong, Rex Harrington, Melissa Williams and Dan Karaty.

Once again the couples were swapped up, which seems to be a weekly thing now, however, it seemed more couples had at least one dancer in their genre. I like the switch up because it moves the votes around a bit more, but it is also scary because it puts certain dancers in danger undeservingly perhaps. Tonight’s dances left me a little disappointed overall… but I will talk about that more at the end of this post…

Anyhow, here is a summary of the night:

Francois & Jordan
Samba – Gustavo Vargas
“Chillando Goma” Chillando Goma - Fulanito: Greatest Hits – Fulanito

Francois was in his genre, Jordan was way out, but you wouldn’t know it (unless you watched her feet carefully ha!) There were a lot of cool twists, spins and lifts. Gustavo warned it was about hips, hair and legs – and he was right! It was sexy and fun!

Joey & Geisha
Contemporary – Stacey Tookey
“Gasoline Rainbows” Gasoline Rainbows - Gasoline Rainbows – Amy Kuney

The idea was that Geisha comes from the polluted future to warn Joey and encourage him to protect the environment. To me, the story was not really told, but the dance itself was beautiful as was the song. This was good for Geisha, who I feel is not as strong as the other female dancers. She was paired with the most amazing Joey and pulled it off, though he was still the star of the routine.

Yulia & JP
Hip Hop – ShoTyme
“Give ‘Em What They Asking For” Give Em What They Askin' For - Back On My B.S. (Bonus Track Version) – Busta Rhymes

This was so-so for me. JP was starting to grow on me, and this being his genre I expected a lot more. Yulia, as I have always said, is a ballroom girl and generally excels in her genre and never really peaks in anything else.

Lindsey & Christian
Jazz Funk – Blake McGrath
“Blow” Blow - Cannibal – Ke$ha

This was a couple reuniting again this season not only with each other but with Blake as choreographer who worked with them week two. Given that, I think I expect a bit more since they have that history together. The story was a couple who has to choose love or career. For me it was weird. It didn’t feel Jazz-Funk (though who am I to judge what that even is exactly, I expect it from Sonya or Sean Cheesman usually) and was just a bit strange. I don’t know if it was the choreo or the execution. I typically love Blake and I really love Lindsey, but this was just so-so for me.

Denitsa & Matt
Cha Cha – Francis LaFreniere & Claudia Primeau
“Give Me Everything” Give Me Everything (feat. Ne-Yo, Afrojack & Nayer) - Give Me Everything (feat. Ne-Yo, Afrojack & Nayer) - Single – Pitbull ft Ne-Yo

It was nice to see alumni Claudia and Francis back to do choreography again. This routine had a lot of potential but fell flat in some areas. First, Denitsa was in her element and did well and Matt did his best but there were some technical errors that even my husband noticed. The most obvious was near the end when Matt went to grab for al ift too soon then stopped, then when they did the lift he slipped and they kind of fell forward. We have seen this before, it is part of life, but coming off an average performance, it puts a damper on the whole thing. Also there was far too much time spent in a slow embrace when there could have been dancing, and right in the middle of the routine.

Carlena & Shane
Contemporary – Sabrina Matthews
“Wise Up” Wise Up - Jerry Maguire (Music from the Motion Picture) – Aimee Mann

This was about being unable to take back words once you say them, as if that can be portrayed clearly in a routine? It was pretty slow moving and as far as Sabrina Matthews goes, it wasn’t my favourite.

Adam & Melissa
Hip Hop – Luther Brown
“Buyou” Buyou - No Boys Allowed (Deluxe) – Keri Hilson

Well, Melissa has had four consecutive standing ovations from all the judges, whoever they may be that week, with whoever she may be dancing with that evening. Amazing! It was a fun, sexy, hard-hitting routine that was my favourite of the night and being last of the night will be memorable and likely get them plenty of votes to stay safe.

Power Rankings:

Top 3:

-Adam & Melissa
-Joey & Geisha
-Francois & Jordan

Middle:

-Carlena & Shane

Bottom 3:

-Lindsey & Christian
-Denitsa & Matt
-Yulia & JP

I was really off last week, so we will see how it goes this week. To be honest, I was a tad disappointed overall this week with the routines. They weren’t as impressive as past weeks. I feel like based on JUST tonight’s dances, many would risk going home. Though, some of it may have been choreography, and maybe my own mood, but I just didn’t feel it tonight as much as I usually do.

Anyhow, please comment below if you agree or disagree or have something to add….

Results Show is Tomorrow Night, I will be away camping so unless wordpress agrees with my blackberry and service is clear at the lake, I won’t post until I return Friday evening.

Also tomorrow on the results show Melissa Williams’ group routine is about relationships and rumours. Host Leah Miller reminded us a trillion times to tune in….

SYTYCD Canada Top 20 Results Show – Down to 18

Tonight’s Results Show was disappointing and really came down to Canada’s votes.

But before that, the opening was an amazing Bollywood routine by Slubdog Miilionaire’s choreographer, Longinus Fernandes. I have to say it was absolutely amazing. I will try to post a video for those of you who missed it or don’t get CTV.

Bollywood: “Hadippa” by Pritam & Mika Singh from “Dil Bole Hadippa!”

For now here is a rehersal photosm as CTV hasn’t posted tonight’s photos or details yet.

Results:
Lindsay & Christian – safe
Geisha & Francois – safe
Jordan & Joey – safe
Carlena & Boneless – dance for your life
Yulia & Adam – safe
Denitsa & JP – dance for your life
Melissa & Shane – safe
Shelaine & Matt – safe
Lauren & Rodrigo – dance for your life
Teya & Kevin – safe

What a shock! When it came down to Teya and Kevin or Laurenand Rodrigo I thought for SURE Teya & Kevin would be dancing for their lives… wow!

Solo’s:

Carlena- Jessie J – “Do it like a dude”
Denitsa- (not sure?)

Lauren- (not sure?)

Boneless- “Yea 3x” – Chris Brown

JP- “See You in Everyone” – survivor

Rodrigo- “Hit the Lights” – Jay Sean (ft lil Wayne)

Then two were sent home… Lauren & Rodrigo.

The judges, Rex in particular, mentioned that Rodrigo being sent home was not unanimous, but was based on votes!

What did you think about the results??

It just shows how important voting is, it seems that the dance for your life did not make the decision for the males tonight, it was just who had the lowest votes – too bad!

NOW WE ARE DOWN TO TOP 18:

More random Leah Miller dislike… The way she delivers the news….

“You are…”

-in the Top 18
-in danger
-dancing.. Next week
-dancing.. For Your Life

Its spoken too fast and monotone… Annoying! I get they are supposed to be suspenseful, but Leah doesn’t pull it off. At least her outfit tonight didn’t hurt my eyes 🙂 A cute little black cocktail dress.

SYTYCD Canada Top 20 Performances

Tonight was the Top performance show and I have compiled a list of the dancers, choreographers, music and a few thoughts.

I will power rank them at the end of this post – feel free to comment with your own thoughts.

Judges Tonight: Jean-Marc, Tre Armstrong, Rex Harrington, Mary Murphy.

Rodrigo & Lauren
Hip Hip – Luther Brown
“Look at me Now” Look At Me Now (feat. Lil Wayne & Busta Rhymes) - Look At Me Now (feat. Lil Wayne & Busta Rhymes) - Single – Chris Brown (ft. Lil’ Wayne & Busta Rhymes)

I really enjoyed this routine. We learned Rodrigo had an injury last week, as he walked on stage to do his solo/dance for his life he actually fell and hurt his neck. He had a minor concussion. He is better now and they two danced really well. It is kind of an awkward song for dance, but Luther choreographed it well and I thought they did a fantastic job.

Christian & Lindsay
Contemporary – Blake McGrath
“1+1” 1+1 - 4 – Beyonce

This was one of my favourites of the night. It was emotional and deep. It was about the importance of touch in relationships and was very sensual. I usually love Blake’s routines and this was no different.

JP & Denitsa
Jive – Danny Arbour (Past contenstent)
“Blue Suede Shoes” Blue Suede Shoes - The Essential Elvis Presley (Remastered) – Elvis Presley

This was a fast moving edurance dance. I thought they both did very well and was impressed to see Danny back choreographing for the show. It was in the middle for me tonight.

Carlena & Boneless
Dancehall – Jaeblaze
“Star Bwoy” Star Bwoy - Star Bwoy Riddim – Mavado

This was fun and had a good vibe. I am not sur ehow I feel about Carlena yet, some days I love her, others I just remember her crap-attitude and unfortunately it really puts that dark cloud over everything she does. Amazing dancer, yes, and hopefully that will continue to shine and cast away the bad attitude I remember. Overall this dance had the swagga’ it needed.

Kevin & Teya
Viennese Waltz – Pierre Allaire
“Good to You” Good To You (Featuring Kate Voegele) - Masterpiece Theatre – Marianas Trench

This was my least favourite dance of the night. It was slow, dull, boring and they really did not have a strong grasp of the steps. Granted, it is supposed to be a calm dance, but they didn’t glide across the dance floor – they kind of stumbled. It wasn’t horrific, and I couldn’t do any better, but it just didn’t entertain me. I predict this will be inthe bottom 3.

Geisha & Francois
Hip Hop – Tucker Barkley
“Roman’s Revenge” Roman's Revenge (feat. Lil Wayne) - Roman's Revenge (feat. Lil Wayne) - Single – Nicki Minaj (ft. Lil’ Wayne)

I enjoyed this routine. The costumes were a bit strange, but the choreo was good and they delivered it well. Compared to the rest of the night, it was about middle rating, but entertaining and fun!

Adam & Yulia
Samba – Gustavo Vargas
“Samba” Samba - Beats Around The Bush – Ganga Giri

This was really really fast. I think Yulia did better than Adam, but together it seemed a little chaotic, frantic and just off. Granted, it was fast, but it went from “fast – wow!” to “fast – what?” and I predict they may end up in the bottom three.

Melissa & Shane
Contemporary – Sabrina Matthews
“This Year’s Love” This Years Love - White Ladder – David Gray

This was amazing! Sabrina Matthews always choreographs such amazing pieces and this one was about a friend helping another friend through HIV AIDS. The topic was emotional, but these two dancers nailed it. THey brought raw emotion and amazing lifts, I was in tears! The judges agreed and got quite emotional connecting the dance to experiences of loved ones lost from AIDS. One of my favourites of the night!

Shelaina & Matt
Hustle – Maria Torres
“Melody of Love” (Wanna Be Loved) Melody of Love (Wanna Be Loved) - Endless Summer – Donna Summer

I usually like Maria Torres’ work and was excited to see a Hustle, but was disappointed. I do not know enough about the genre to say if it was the choreo or the dancing or just the song, but it was really slow and felt almost like it had to be choreographed at half time or something. I was bored besides a few nice lifts and spins. I think it may put them in the bottom three.

Jordan & Joey
Jazz – Sean Cheesman
“That’s Life” That's Life - Nothing But the Best - The Frank Sinatra Collection (Remastered) – Frank Sinatra

By far my favourite of the night! This dance was athletic, comedic, completely in sync and absolutely fantastic! Judges called these two a power couple and I couldn’t agree more. Jordan was an early favourite for me in auditions and tonight I think she quickly became Canada’s favourite! The two of them nailed the facial expressions, comedic moments, dance moves and chemistry! The story was a first date at the movies and the boy wants a kiss and tries to get one… it was so funny – once I find it I will post it for those of you who don’t get CTV to watch… really fantastic!

With that said here are my rankings for the night – please comment if you agree or disagree.

Top 3:

-Jordan & Joey
-Melissa & Shane
-Christian & Lindsay

Middle 4:

-Rodrigo & Lauren (almost top 3)
-JP & Denitsa
-Geisha & Francois
-Carlena & Boneless

Bottom 3:
-Adam & Yulia
-Shelaina & Matt
-Kevin & Teya

We will see if I am right, it is sad because the bottom 3 couples are not necessarily my least favourite dancers, they just didn’t pull through tonight for some reason.

What do you think?
Stay Tuned for Results tomorrow, Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at 8pm Local time on CTV. I will post the results here tomorrow night.

Random Comment: Am I the only one who dislikes Leah Miller? I know I always say it, but she is way too young to have that much botox! Her outfit tonight was so strange! An orange skirt that went up her back and a purple long sleeved shirt that was tied up to show her upper torso? I wish Cat Deely could do our show here too 😉

SYTYCD Canada Season 4 Premiere

Tonight was the premiere of So You Think You Can Dance Canada Season 4 on CTV.

For those of you who are not able to watch SYTYCD Canada, I will try to bring you updates each week.

First of all the basics:

Our judges are Jean-Marc Genereux, Tre Armstrong and Luther Brown.
We often have guest judges. Tonight it was Mary Murphy and Rex Harrington.

The procedure during auditions are the same, they dance then get a ticket to the finals or go to choreo or get sent home.

Our host is Leah Miller. She is not nearly as amazing as Cat Deely and to be honest, gets on my nerves almost as much as Jean-Marc.

Choreo is run by Blake McGrath, called “Blake Boot Camp”

Any questions?

Tonight were the Toronto Auditions

I have listed the dancer, the music if I could figure it out and then any details I could. Feel free to comment if I missed anything important or let me know what you think.

Daniel Keith Morrison
Hip hopping in his thatched hat appeared to be a joke but busted out some serious (and goofy) moves.
Sent to finals.

Jordan Clarke
“Firework” Firework - Teenage Dream (Deluxe Edition) – Katy Perry  (montage)
“Fall at Your Feet” Fall At Your Feet (Acoustic) - Back to Bedlam – James Blunt (audition)
Sent to finals.

Sent for choreo – made it through

Joey Arrigo – 18

Stunning contemporary
Sent to Finals

Rodrigo Basurto
“Pressure” Pressure (feat. Ginuwine) - Pressure (feat. Ginuwine) - Single – Belly

Lisa Frias
“The Way I Am” The Way I Am - Girls and Boys – Ingrid Michaelson
Sent to Choreo – made it through

Jordan Davis
Very fun hip hop
Sent to finals

Jena Singh – 19
Salsa dancer
She had been a partner for someone auditioning during season 2 but was too young until now to audition herself. Her shoe came undone during her routine but she still rocked it.
Sent to choreo – made it through

Melissa Mitro
“S&M” S&M - Loud – Rihanna – (montage)
“Say You Don’t Want It” Say You Don't Want It - One Night Only – One Night Only (audition)
She is so muscular and athletic, she joked about her “guns”

She actually made it to the finals in season 1 but did not show up, because she was committed to competition dance with a team and did not want to let them down.
Sent to finals – hope she makes it this time, I like her!

Jean-Marc returned, he had been at a ballroom competition. I honestly, prefer when he is NOT there, his voice and the way he hits on all the hot ladies gets on my nerves.

Yara Casconcelos
Sent to finals

Shandal Lee Williams
Crump – Hard-hitting, spasms and throwing himself on the floor doing Contortions. The judges were more fearful he was going to hurt himself than anything. Was told to calm his aggression.
Sent to Choreo – did not complete choreo

Matthew Cuff
“Sexy Chick” Sexy Chick (feat. Akon) - One More Love – David Guetta
Voguer – He auditions every year, but his ‘flamboyant’ style is not well recieved typically. Tonight he had fun and had improved a lot.
Sent to Choreo – made it through

Andrew Chung
“We No Speak Americano” We No Speak Americano - We No Speak Americano (Remixes, Vol. 1) – Yolando Be Cool
B-Boy who auditions every year. Decided to focus on locking this year to take it to the next level. He almost made Top 20 last year and I predict he will make it this year after judges compliments on how much cleaner and confident he is.
Sent to finals.

Katie Arnold
“Marry Me” Marry Me - Save Me, San Francisco (Bonus Track Version) – Train (montage)
“Bleeding Love” The Bleeding - The Way of the Fist – Five Finger Death Punch (Acoustic)
Unsupportive father, emotional intro, but she is nervous and weak and stopped mid-dance
Sent Home

Suzana Garcia
“Errtime” Errtime - The Longest Yard (Music from and Inspired by the Motion Picture) – Nelly (montage)
“Commander” Commander (feat. David Guetta) - Commander (feat. David Guetta) - Single – Kelly Rowland (audition)
Lot’s of compliments on her looks, but that she was needing to bring more precision to her dancing, she was too wild.
Sent to choreo – made it through

Brenner Smith – 18
Everett Smith (tapper from Season 2) is his brother. I LOVED Everett! Brenner is Contemporary though. I really liked him.
Sent to finals

AJ Lopresti
“Shambala” Shambala - Three Dog Night: The Complete Hit Singles – Three Dog Night
Tapper who auditioned as contemporary in the past and did not make it.
Sent to Finals

Kirstie Keenan – 19
“Best for Last” Best for Last - 19 – Adele
Some mixed responses from the judges. I really think she is cute and quirky and fun.
Sent to choreo – did not make it through this year

Esie Mensah – 25
Martial Arts Black Belt in 3 Disciplines. She was unique and hard-hitting and I could just see Sean Cheesman having a hay-day with her.

Captain Canada
After another year of all No’s he announces he is “retiring” This guy has a hat and a Canada Flag Cape… all in fun.

Jordon Barley – 18
“Like a G6” Like a G6 - Free Wired – Far East Movement
He was really awesome. He learned off the internet!!

Top 16 Results Show – STYCD Canada

Power Rankings last night were 1/3 correct… there goes my streak… I disagree with tonight’s Bottom 3… but let’s look at the whole show…

Opening Number
Louis Prima’s “Sing, Sing Remix” –Sing,
Sergio Trujillo, choreographer of “Jersey Boys”

Opening Routine was fun and quirky. Girls in flapper style outfits, boys in top hats and vests… loved the look. The towel throwing didn’t work as they were too out of synch but the chairs worked well.

Judges:
-Stacey Tookey
-Rex Harrington
-Tre Armstrong
-Jean-Marc Genereaux

Results:

Janick & Shavar – safe
Nathalie & Mackenzie -safe
Danielle & Sebastian – safe
Amanda & Denys – dancing for their lives
Kloe & Jonathan – safe
Charlene & Jeff – dancing for their lives
Claudia & Edgar – safe
Kirsten & Jesse – danving for their lives

Comments:

I really feared Kirsten and Jesse or Claudia and Edgar would be in the bottom. I don’t think, based on last night, either of them should have been and I am happy for Claudia and Edgar but really, Kirsten and Jesse did amazingly last night. Charlene and Jeff, similarily, were amazing, I put them in my Top 3!! Sad at these Bottom 3.

Solo’s – Dancing for their lives

Females

Amanda – strong movements, a bit sloppy at the end but passionate
Charlene – violent movements that didn’t quite work for me but she was nervous clearly
Kirsten – slow powerful movements.

Notes – Amanda & Charlene’s first time dancing for their lives. Charlene & Kirsten are both Vancouver girls.

Males
Denys – upbeat, entertaining, fun solo!
Jeff – another fantastic solo long legs and all over the stage
Jesse – passionate, moving, awesome!

Notes – Honestly all three did such an amazing job on their solo!!

Leaving

Kirsten

Jean-Marc said he is disappointed in Canada for voting the best three dancers into the bottom. Based on being in the bottom more than the others, she is going home.

Jesse

Tre to wonders what Canada is thinking when they vote. She is upset with the results. Thinks all solo’s were dynamic display of talent. He broke down at the news. He made a plea to Canada to vote and change these results. I think it may be interpreted wrong, but I know where he was coming from.

Thoughts?

I just can’t believe it really… I mean, repeatedly in the bottom leads to going home but I wish Canada would vote more.

So You Think You Can Dance Canda – Top 12

Last week my power rankings were 1/3 and as we get lower in numbersit is getting pretty difficult, they are all so good.

This week I am hoping to do better (Hey I was 3/3 two weeks ago!) here are my thought son the show… please comment with your thoughts and let’s see tomorrow who goes home.

Melanie & Cody
Jazz with Melissa Williams
“Glory Box” Portishead - Dummy - Glory Box – Portishead

I loved the scarf, I loved them, I loved the routine, I loved the outfits, I loved the chair, I loved the make-up, I loved the story… yes I am biased, I LOVE these 2 dancers. My fave of the night.

Kim & Emanuel
Hip Hop with Luther Brown
“Respect my Conglomerate” Busta Rhymes, Jadakiss & Lil Wayne - Back On My B.S. (Bonus Track Version) - Respect My Conglomerate -Busta w/ Lil’W and JedaKiss

Although there were parts not in unison, and he seemed uncomfortable much of the time, Kim really surprised me and brought it. I loved that she just “went for it” and (though not hard hitting) her tutting impressed me. Her hip shaking was sexy, she stole the routine for me.

Jayme Rae & Daniel
Contemporary with Blake McGrath
“It Must have been Love” Kari Kimmel - Pink Balloon - EP - It Must Have Been Love -Kari Kimmel

This routine gave me goosebumps. I loved that it was flowy and beautiful then abrupt and hard. The juxtaposition of the movements matched the emotion of the routine. Love and Marriage turned to heartache and pain. Blake is Brilliant!

—————————————BOTTOM 3—————————————

Tara-Jean & Everett
Theatre with Sean Cheeseman
“The Joint is Jumpin” Ain't Misbehavin' Company - Ain't Misbehavin' - The "Fats Waller" Musical (The 30th Anniversary Cast Recording) - The Joint Is Jumpin' – Ain’t Misbehvin’ (1978 Original Cast)

There were some nice slides, flips and even an amazing tap solo. The part of this that caught my attention the most, however, was that CRAZY flip over near the end of the routine. My heart actually jumped and I got chills.

Vincent & Amy
Jive with Tony Meredith & Melanie LePatin
“Pony Time” Chubby Checker - 20 Greatest Hits - Pony Time -Chubby Checker

This was a high energy, fun-loving, fantastic routine. I thouroughly enjoyed it and I enjoy them – I just don’t know how to pick a bottom 3 this week.

Austin & Corynne
Salsa with Tony Meredith & Melanie LePatin
“Calle Ocho” Pitbull - I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho) - EP - I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho) [More English Extended Mix] – Pitbull

This routine was akward for me. I loved the Choreo but Corynne has these amazing legs she barely used to kick. Her hip shaking was barely there. The pairing was just uncomfortable for me. Austin brought it but it just didn’t work for me. I agree with Mia. I Think Bottom 3.

If my bottom 3 are correct i suspect that Corynne & Austin go home…. *hides*
