Pure SYTYCD Tour T-Shirts

Now that SYTYCD season 7 is over, we at least have the SYTYCD tour to look forward to. In fact, if you haven’t already bought your SYTYCD tour tickets, what are you waiting for? Go and BUY THEM NOW!!

Now, as I thought about the tour coming up, I thought about how cool it would be to have some Pure SYTYCD tour t-shirts. I actually have a few designs that say Pure SYTYCD, but I thought I’d ask first if any of the Pure SYTYCD family of readers had some design skills and wanted to design a t-shirt for the SYTYCD tour. If there’s more than one, we could have a few shirts or we could vote for our favorite one or something.

As a small incentive, whoever designs the t-shirt that I like most, I’ll buy them a t-shirt. Plus, I’ll wear that t-shirt when I go and interview the dancers at the Las Vegas tour stop. Not to mention, I’m guessing that hundreds of Pure SYTYCD readers will be wearing them too and you can know that you made them!

Ok, so if you’re interested in designing a t-shirt, leave a comment or drop us a note on the Contact Us page and we’ll see what we can put together.

Note: Make sure that whatever t-shirt you design doesn’t violate any of the show’s copyright or images (ie. images of dancers from the show or the official logos of the show.

Kent Boyd Will Win So You Think You Can Dance Season 7

For the record, I just want to say that I started this post back on July 21st. So, I’ve thought this to be the case for a long time. It’s not like I’m just hoping on the Kent Boyd bandwagon now. Which is especially interesting because I’m actually on the Lauren bandwagon as a fan, but despite my bias I still think Kent Boyd has this season of So You Think You Can Dance in the bag.

First of all, I think history is really on my side. The best comparison that can be made for Kent is with Benji Schwimmer. The type of fan following that Benji had really reminds me of the way fans are for Kent. They just love the little guy. Plus, really what’s not to like? He’s just a sweet, sincere guy.

The fan following for Kent is just awesome. They adore him. Plus, he really has excelled on the show and he hasn’t shown any signs of arrogance at all. That’s the attribute that America seems to love most (and I know I do too).

Nigel also did Kent a huge favor by saying it was close. I’m sure that many Kent fans were sitting back, thinking that Kent just had it in the bag (like I do). By Nigel saying that it’s close, the whole teen group that loves Kent will be voting in droves for Kent.

I think that @Beth_Pettit on Twitter described it best when she sent me this tweet:
@puresytycd Kent could fall off the stage & land on his face in the middle of a routine and I’d still probably vote for him. He’s pure magic

The good part for me is that I love Lauren and Robert is great too. This might be the first time that I’d be happy with any of the final 3 winning. It’s just too bad that Lauren and Robert really don’t have a chance against the powerhouse Kent!

As I think about it, maybe the fact that I like Lauren Froderman so much might be the best reason why Lauren has no chance of winning. At least considering how all of my past blonde girls were quickly booted from SYTYCD.

Ashley Should Come Back to SYTYCD

A lot of people have been talking about what’s going to happen with Ashley after being sent home for injury. Nigel talked about her making it back for tour and so many wondered why she wasn’t offered the chance to come back on the show like Alex Wong was offered. Well, Nigel tweeted what I expected would be their response:

Ashley will be invited back to Vegas next year if she doesn’t do the tour. FOX feels you can do one or the other. I’m hoping she’ll tour!

Basically, if she goes on tour, then she becomes an employee of Fox and then isn’t eligible to compete again. At least that seems like a reasonable reason for her not to be able to come back on the show after being on tour.

So what do you say? Should Ashley try and go on tour or come back for another season of SYTYCD?

Personally, unlike Nigel I selfishly want her to come back on the show. I feel cheated that she got injured and didn’t get to dance more. So, I want her back on the show. She can go on the next tour!

A Farewell Message to Alex Wong

Pure SYTYCD readers Sue and Don sent me the following message which I thought that many other fans of Alex Wong and SYTYCD would appreciate. I hope that Alex gets to see their message.

This is for Alex. We are in our seventies and watch SYTYCD passionately. You have moved our hearts so deeply by your consummate ability, your joy, your inner beauty, and your genuine belief in yourself. You are an inspiration. Yes we cried and wated the tear run down your cheek, and we remembered the compassion that marks humanity. God bless you. There is nothing but genuine love and admiration for you here, and I am sure, throughout the world.. Visualize your return to dance in all its beauty. We keep you in our hearts. Don’t ever stop believing in yourself.

Alex Wong Injured on SYTYCD – Poll – Will He Return?

I’m sure that everyone was a little bit shocked to see that Alex Wong was injured and couldn’t perform on last night’s episode of SYTYCD. Pretty crazy stuff and many unhappy Alex fans (including Mia it seems). According to the SYTYCD rules he’s automatically in the bottom 3 and will have to dance for his life tonight. Of course, the real question is whether he’ll even be able to dance for his life or whether his injury will take him out of the competition. What’s your prediction? Vote now:

My life can be summed up in the following two quotes: 1) "I am married to engineering and am its faithful wife by day, but at night my wanderlust takes hold and the arts becomes my jealous paramour." and... 2) "Engineering is my safety net. Writing is my passion. Acting is my escape when the other two become too much." So where does dancing fit in? Pretty much anywhere at this point... =)
