Jeanine Mason In “Understudy” Film

SYTYCDism posted the news that Jeanine Mason will be working on a film the next couple weeks called, “Understudy.” Here’s a short description and picture from the Understudy website:

UNDERSTUDY is a University of Southern California graduate thesis film about an understudy dancer fighting to be number one in a hit Los Angeles dance show.

Jeanine also offered this really fun tweet:
“I’m very excited to be acting anddd dancing in the film. Back in heels and trying to keep up w the insane ballroom & salsa dancers!!”

Jeanine’s tweets are just like she was in person. Totally real. We’ll be looking forward to the video when it comes out Jeanine. Enjoy your summer vacation!

SYTYCD Alum (All-Stars?) Chelsie and Dmitry’s Photo Shoot

Over on SYTYCD Season 4 contestant and Dancing with the Stars professional Chelsie Hightower’s website, there’s a gorgeous photo shoot by Manuel Palacios with Chelsie and SYTYCD Season 2 (and DWtS alum) dancer Dmitry Chaplin.

Check out my favorite photo from the 70+ options, below. And make sure you check out all the photos, including the spectacular shots of the two dancers and a handy tree branch at the end.

Dmitry’s in my Top 10 All-Stars, but I didn’t include Chelsie, cause I assumed her commitment to Dancing with the Stars would keep her out of the running. I’d love to see her back, as she’s always been one of my favorites.

I would love to see Jeanine be one of Season 7’s All-Stars. She’s one of the most dynamic dancers that have been on the show, in my opinion.

Channing Cooke Does Hip Hop

Everyone knows that Channing was my favorite on SYTYCD (partially due to my love of Blondes I think). So, of course, I totally LOVED these videos of Channing doing Hip Hop (Thanks to SYTYCDism).

This one is just beautiful of Channing:

Here is one of her and Ivan Kourmaev from SYTYCD season 2.

It’s amazing that Channing was kind of “branded” a contemporary dancer when she does Hip Hop this well. I wonder what kind of dancer Channing would consider herself. Yep, I just became even more of a Channing fan! We’re going to have to work harder next season to find these little nuggets of information before the top 20.

So You Think You Can Dance Canada Season 1 winner and finalist Nico & Natalli dance with Janet Jackson on AMA's

The quality on television was not great to start the American Music Awards, I thought it was just my t.v. but seems it was everyone. Anyhow, here is a video from youtube of the opening act to the AMA’s. Janet Jackson did great but two of her dancers, who we all know and love, stood out to me most… Nico & Natalli. Lot’s of close-up’s and close-to-Janet moves… love it!

Where are they now? Phillip & Hok

SYTYCD Alums Hokuto “Hok”Konishi and Phillip “PacMan” Chbeeb just popped up yesterday on YouTube with a new dance video!  The video, entitled Office Life, was created and filmed over a three day period and centers on three office employees that “raise hell in furious protest to their mundane, frustrating nine to five job. they make quite a mess in the process. :)”

Chelsie Hightower and Katee Shean Can Sing?

This video is really dark, but seeing Chelsie Hightower sing just made me laugh. I think Katee Shean is the girl on the far side from Chelsie also. Not sure about the girl in the middle. Anyway, this gave me a good laugh, but it doesn’t seem that Chelsie will be following in Julianne’s footsteps with a singing career on top of her dancing career. Enjoy!

I really have no idea how it’s possible that I missed this video of some of the best So You Think You Can Dance performers dancing on American Idol. Ok, I’m not a huge American Idol fan, but the dancers from So You Think You Can Dance were awesome.
