Tuesday was Results Night…
The Top 22 Group routine was choreographed by Luther Brown.
Hip-hop Routine: On the Floor (feat. Pitbull) – Jennifer Lopez
So You Think You Can Dance Canada’s results show is only 30 minutes, so we really get down to it quicker than the USA version.
CTV writes:
Each of the bottom six dancers had 30 seconds to dance for their lives. First up was Cassandra performing a jazz routine, followed by Lauren’s salsa number and finally, Geisha’s lyrical contemporary performance.
The guys took to the stage next. François kicked it off (literally!) with a high energy jive, followed by Rodrigo’s hip-hop routine that had the audience shrieking with excitement. Last up, Adam A. combined contemporary moves with b-boying tricks.
At that point, Adam and Cassandra were sent home, leaving only the Top 20 for next week. Talk about short-lived for Adam A?! Ah well…

Adam A and Cassandra were sent home Tuesday night.
[EMILIE’S UPDATE 7.18.11
Cassandra danced to Martin Solveig & Dragonette’s “Hello” –
Lauren danced to Robin Thicke’s “Everything I Can’t Have” –
Geisha danced to: Sia Fuler’s “I’m In Here” –
Francois danced to Sue Foley’s “Gotta Keep Moving” –
Rodrigo danced to Danny Fernandes ft Shawn Desman’s “Feel It” –
Adam danced to Ron Pope’s “A Drop in the Ocean” – ]
I wasn’t too surprised about Adam (though I’m glad they are letting him come back next year to try again as he’s pretty phenomenal).
Cassandra surprised me. I thought the rumba wasn’t bad at all.
Hey, Jordan and Joey actually danced to “For the People” by Mark Huculak.
Hey do you know what song Adam A. danced to for his solo perfomance? THanks
I was surprised both the Rumba and the Chacha were in the bottom, those were 2 of my favorite performances.
But the judges did do their jobs properly and cut the weakest links out of what they were given by the voters.
How can I say that when I thought the Rumba was so good? Because it was Francois that made it shine. Cassandra filled her part as well as could be expected, but I think most of the other girls would have done it just as well. And she had a weak solo.
Most of all I’m really really glad the judges aren’t going the way of the current US season, where they seemed determined to keep couples together.
I’m with you, there, Johan. I can’t stand that great dancers went home because their partners happened to be the weak links.
Split them up when necessary! We would have lost Kayla so early if they’d employed such stupidity back in season 5.
I think the Top 22 performance episode was one of the BEST episodes of any SYTYCD I’ve ever seen. All of the couples were so well matched and the routines were phenomenal. There was something to love about each routine. I can’t wait for video of tonight’s episode.
